as atrocious as the caste system is.....here in this case the caste system was important.....its not in an metropolitan city where caste doesn't matter....but in the remote village of UP where caste still matters......that girl was raped because these 4 high caste boys thought that she was their property and they could do it to her.....I had read a tweet long back and I had also retweeted and asked if that guy can be arrested....I don't remember the exact words....but it was like ...we Thakur boys break the seal of these dalit girls....i puked..
So sometimes its important to mention the reason why it happened and that also when her family was not far away...
Found the tweet...
Thanq for pointing it out👍
So many of us living in cities live in our own bubbles and not aware of the cruel caste system. My mom who worked as an government teacher in a village , saw it first hand. The Dalit children are separated from the other children by the teachers and sometimes not even allowed to use the common bathroom. My mother, as the Headmistress of the school, is authorised to appoint a cook for the mid day meals. When she appointed a Dalit woman, some teachers and children refused to eat😡.
Not that cities are exempt from this discrimination. But, there , it’s more Of an implicit bias.
