Prani is clearly and pleasantly surprised, she just stares at him (in a good way), trying to decipher the man before her and to understand all that he had just confessed. Rey become a little fidgety, looking down and around waiting for her to respond but she only stares. Clearly anxious, Rey asks her why is she looking at him like that?!

Then she breaks her silence. She says that she sees Rey today and not one of the Khurannas in him. This is important because when she fell in love in college, she fell in love with Reyansh, she din't fall in love RK (I'll come to this Reyansh vs RK saga a little later). She sees the real Reyansh beneath the fake mask (known as the Khuranna tag). She tells him that even he has seen his fair share of things, gone through bad times and to fight with the world he had to mask his real self (Rey behind the Khuranna name). But today, she sees just Rey, the real Rey. Rey baby, who had come in expecting her to accept his apology and probably nothing more is clearly shocked. It is a pleasant surprise as he watches her see him for who he is, something he has always wanted her to see. Maan had seen it, he knows it but Prani's stamp of acceptance of who he really is was something he wanted, something that mattered to him. Now as he is receives it, when he was least expecting it, you can see the emotions building up within him, eyes slowly beginning to well up.

Then we see Prani beginning to break down. Reyansh had always mattered to her, be it in a good or bad way. He was her first and only love, the first man to break her heart, the man who had given her the biggest and most precious gift of her life, the father of her child and the man who had in a way broken her beyond repair. Reyansh has had and still has a major part in her life, and all this while she couldn't understand how she had let someone so vile and horrible as him impact her so much. She constantly had questioned herself how she had connected with and shared her life with someone like him.

She says that today that she is very happy because today Rey has finally showed her the truth, putting an end to the constant turmoil withing her, because if he was a wrong man like once he had made her believe, her heart would have never beat for him, implying that he was truly a good man and that she loved him and lived for him at some point.

Unable to face him directly (like Readlo, Parboni & Jey pointed out. Please read ReadLo & Jey's explanations for this bit in Pg 82 and/or 83 of the AT) and confess her side of the story we see Prani walking around him and finally behind him. As she moves, we see the shock and emotions finally getting the better of Rey and him breaking down, lips shivering and tears freely flowing out. He never imagined that he'd get to hear this, to have someone who knew him so well, to have someone who loved him, to have someone who just understood him for who he was.

Prani faces his back, still unable to face him directly to put out all that she had been holding in and overanalysing and bothering herself with, with regards to him. She continues how she (her brain) constantly questioned herself thinking how she couldn't understand a person and who he was but her heart had always fought against the thought and told her she was right, she did identify Rey for the real him and not his masked personality. We see a Prani, with eyes full of admiration admit how that he was not a bad man at all, that he was good at acting like one and he had a clean heart. Prani still behind Rey as he continues to break down.

Prani done with her hearfelt thoughts moves back to stand right in front of Rey and tell him that he in fact is a 'really really nice guy'. Rey who till then had his head down, faces her shocked and trying to comprehend the acceptance he had just received from the person he had wanted it from, a mixed expression of confusion and 'you know me too well' and I din't see this acceptance coming from you. Prani doesn't want to stop there, she wants the world to get to know the good man Rey that she knows! He still can't believe what she is saying, he expresses shock, he is not able to process or understand the confession that had just happened. It was the shock that she knew him so well and could see through him just like that, like no one ever has done or could! (Parboni I felt that it was more this way than the fear of revealing himself to the world). Prani continues that this is the real Rey, the good Rey, that is the true Rey. She says that it is time to bring out the real Rey and not hide behind the mask. I believe Rey clearly wasn't ready for this conversation, he clearly din't know how much Prani knew, he din't know she had so much respect and such a high place for him, he had wanted her to see him that way, but to know that she already knew so much and saw him in an even better way than he wanted to and that someone (also, someone that mattered) to understand him in a way that no one else did was too much for him to process and reacr to at that moment.

Reyansh was so emotional yesterday when pranati said she was not wrong in loving him. It hurt him when she said she regretted all her life because she couldn’t see that he was bad man but as soon as she said her heart always said she wasn’t wrong we could see a very different reyansh.

I just feel he needed to hear that some reassurance that she didn’t make a mistake in loving him. He deserved that love and care.

He accepted that he has drawn a lot closer to pranati and Jugs in last month which brings him biggest fear of his life- separation. He has lost everything he has to ever loved and he knows he cannot lose these two. He can go to any measure to protect these two. They are very precious to him.

Kunal and Aneri emote so well. Their expressions and eyes do all the talking and so glad director is making so good use of that.

Bedroom scene had fire + romance + maturity at the same time. So well shot, written and acted scene!

Before he can even process or actually answer, Jugs enters asking her mom and dad what happed and if something happened! I personally loved how she entered Prani's room and called Rey (Bandar Papa) first, it could be because he was the first person she saw in her sleepy state or it could also be that she knew Prani has something else that was bothering (the earlier drama) her already and din't want to bother her again so called out Rey first. Prayansh, who were in the middle of what I would like to call their 'acceptance conversation' immediately turn to the other side, wiping away their tears, careful enough not to bother their daughter with more drama. Rey assures her that nothing happened and as Jugs questions further, Prayansh look at each other trying to figure out how to handle Jugs. Rey steps forward and tells her that it would have been a dream and it was now down and comforts his daughter. And then Jugs tells Rey that if Riya knows that Jugs woke up and loitered around this late, she'd scold her. Rey and Prani have what I believe is their first 'PARENTS MOMENT TOGETHER' , sharing a silent smile over their daughter's concern. Rey assures Jugs that he'll handle Riya and takes her away and Prayansh share another 'understanding parents nod'. You can literally see the post conversation effect on both their faces, that happiness ā¤

Putting Jugs to bed, Rey is lost in Prani's words about how she saw the real Rey, the Rey that the world sees has a mask but the Rey in front of her is the real one, the good one. Jugs shakes him out of his thoughts and he puts her to bed and they share a sweet father - daughter moment and she holds on to him. Rey again thinks about the time he has spent with Prani and Jugs in the water balloon night and the pooja and realises that in his attempt to separate them, he had actually come very close to them. Then it begins to dawn on him and he asks himself what is happening to him, if he's changing if he's scared to lose Prani and Jugs and does it scare him that he might lose what he has at the moment. He kisses a sleeping Jugnu.

Rey here for me tried to process all that had transpired in the last hour or so, the entire Prani talk has made him realise what he has, a person who knows and understands him for who he is, and his daughter who is almost like him (we've discussed a lot about this) to whom he could connect. Realisation has begun to dawn on him about what he has, but he also knows that this might not last beyond the remaining of those 6 months and now that he knows what he has, he is not ready to lose it. Losing them might mean losing himself and that scares him.

I think today's Prayansh scene was really necessary because Rey needs an assurance that only Prani can give and today he has got the first glimpse of it. Like ReadLo pointed out, this won't suffice, he'll need it from time to time. We'll see what the future holds. He has apologised for what he has done, Prani has come to terms with some resentments that she had carried all these years, good that she has cleared some of them because sometimes they lead to some of her stupid actions and good that Rey knows what she thinks. This isn't the end of it, rather only the beginning. There is a lot more left for them to talk about, tell each other, understand and reconcile over, this is an everyday process and it has just begun! And with each passing day, they'll be able to bring the best out of each other even in the worst cases!

About the Reyansh Vs Reyansh Khuranna (RK) thingy, I'll try and put out in the best way, writing this entire thing has been quite draining, so apologies if I am not clear. So, Reyansh as we know him is the actual person, the child that emotionally struggled, the child with abandonment issues, the child with mother issues, the child who had learnt how to fend for himself, the good man, who tries to be true to his heart and intentions and this is also Prani's Rey, the one she fell in love with. Reyansh Khuranna on the other hand is an extended version of Reyansh, or more like Reyansh hiding behind the Khuranna nametag. Everything that Reyansh has had to face had led him to use his own surname, the Khuranna tag as his mask, his hiding place. A defence mechanism that he has developed over the years. In order to protect the actual Reyansh, Khuranna is a wall, it'll not only hide him from any attacks but also protect him from everything thrown. It is also a convenient escape mechanism to live a life that Rey knows isn't exactly right, but will bring him good like how he tells Maan that as long as it benefits them, there is no right or wrong. This is Reyansh Khuranna. I know I can and I also want to explain Rey Vs Reyansh Khuranna better, I don't have the energy or the headspace to do it now. I'll do it sometime in the future, if someone can please add it as 7 and do it along with this. This is the gist of it though.

If you've come this far, thank you for reading my Prayansh rant šŸ˜†

Please put out your perspectives wherever we might differ, always a joy to look at the same scene from different angles! Also, I know I've gone overboard and overanalysed it, so kindly ignore wherever you find it a bit over the top!

This digging is specially dedicated to the PB forum's wishing tree Parboni ā¤šŸŒ³

So, here we go!

We begin with Prani trying to apply medicine to her wound and Rey walks in. The first thing that stands out is the way he calls out Pranati's name. It is unlike the normal Reyansh tone, today it was a little toned down and more warm, more personal (one to one). He was clearly there to talk to her about something, but the state in which he sees her reminds him of the exact event that caused that state.

Prani on seeing him immediately goes on to pick up her dupatta. Here again, there is a very subtle but a very powerful moment of Rey, behind her you can see him putting his head down, trying not to look at her as she adjusts her clothes. That wasn't a very Reyansh Khuranna thing to do, but he wasn't there as Reyansh Khuranna (hereafter called RK in this post), he was there as just Reyansh. So even before the whole eye closing saga, this was the first actual sign of him choosing to respect Prani and his own emotions and newfound direction.

And then we see him struttering, another first?! He tries asking her for the ointment, he goes 'wo' and then literally points his finger towards the table, the ointment and himself, hoping that she'd give it to him for him to help. Not to forget, we have had another ointment scene in the show earlier, during Armaan's wedding. There we saw him grabbing her and cornerning her against a wall, trying to heal her wound while still hurting and taunting her. But that was RK, tonight it was just Rey, the one with a newfound purpose, that is the difference.

The comparison and contrast between that RK and this Rey is amazing. You paralleled the two events well.šŸ‘šŸ¼

Prani clearly hesitates but Rey doesn't leave it there, he asks her to wait, moves behind her, closes his eyes and says 'Ab toh barosa karlo' and puts out his palm waiting for her to give him the medicine. An Praniti looks on clearly shocked. This one scene is iconic for so many reasons, you can view this scene in two ways, one literally and another metaphorically. I'll just put down the methaphorical bits, He first clearly understands Prani isn't comfortable so he moves to the stance and position in which he is at his very raw or weakest self (eyes closed - blind, behind her) and puts out his hand allowing her to do what she wants to do, she can use this opportunity and trust him, to put her hand in his and guide him or she can do the exact opposite, attack. Here Rey literally presents Prani with his most honest, vulnerable, open form, trusting her enough to do the right thing. Prani places the tube on his hand, metaphorically trusting him as she stares at him, trying hard to decipher the man before her and his ways. As she lowers her dupatta, it's her turn to meet him at the same level, guard down, open to trust and presenting herself in the most open and honest form.

A pure symbolism of trust. No tricks or anything.

As Prani clutches on to her dupatta for dear life, Rey makes the first touch and guess what? Prani is affected, the touch clearly still bothers her, makes her feel them feels, invariably. As the entire scene proceeds, we don't see Praniti Mishra, rather the Prani who fell in love with Rey years ago, his every move and every touch bothering her and leaving an impact.

The same way it wasn't RK but Rey today, this wasn't Pranati Mishra but Rey's Prani today. An acute symbolism of transition from teenage sweethearts to adult lovers is there.

After the entire saga, Rey doesn't immediately go back to his self, he waits, eyes closed. Prani pulls back her dupatta, gets the tube back and asks Rey to open his eyes. And then only my baby boy actually opens his eyes, every move he makes until then, made at her mercy & call and she thanks him. And he in turn thanks her back for trusting him. We've already discussed and come to realise that he wants her to trust him and today we see him put himself in an unfamiliar place to earn it and he does.

Every other aspect constant,he'd be willing to do everything to win her back and keep her in his life. But his own family members(esp Dadi and after what V did to her) and with Archit in the picture he's still in a confused state. What he's sure of is,he wants both Jugnu and Pranati to be safe.

You can look at this entire scene as a romance bit and also as a trust metaphor, works both ways!

Today's conversation marks a new journey for Reyansh. However, there will be times when he'd get distracted. Heck,he might even fall into dadi's trap. In spite of that,he'll fight back hard to regain Pranati's trust and redeem himself in her eyes. There are changes that his love for Jugnu brought in him. There'd be changes that his love for Pranati would bring in.

Thank you so much for considering my request,Natasha. šŸ¤—This was a beautiful analysis.

CVs really missed a golden opportunity to use this 'accidental' engagement that happened between them to establish that these two have a formal 'rishta'. Disappointing.šŸ’”

They have to use this 'engagement' card someday. Even though a lot of other symbolism happened like chunari falling and sindoor falling but those were subtle moments. The engagement actually happened.

Mallika isn't related to this family in any way. Phir bhi tapak padti hai as if it's her own home. In fact, even the og family members aren't shown in the Khurana Mansion as much as Mallika is shown.

Toh phir what's the problem in establishing that Pranati is Rey's fiancee?

I thought the same thing when I said yesterday that Rey and Pranati must agree on what they are!

Even if both of them don't take the engagement seriously, they are really engaged!

Mallika arrives at their home as if it were a mill!

Rey has put Argit in his place, but there nobody has done it to Mallika, they have noticed that she spies on them, but they don't dare to say anything because of her father...

The engagement will come soon. The fact that Mallika is asking for Dadi to give her Rey, I think the "we are engaged" card will come out.

I think even Jagnu may be the culmination of this thing as Riya spends her time talking about her parents' relationship.

I was waiting for Rey to shout they are fiancé’s when everyone questions their relationship.

But like you said - it will come. Someone will play that card. They still wear the ring so hopefully that track hasn’t vanished into thin air

Natasha I have read everything and I completely agree with you. šŸ¤—

It would take too long to answer everything, but I would do it little by little ^^
