Right to privacy??

Right to privacy is a fundamental right in India as ruled by the Supreme court in 2017.

Why I am stating this here is because there is a plethora of private chats sourced and leaked in media with blatant disregard to privacy of the people involved. Whether the parties involved are guilty or not is what I want to discuss.

Can't anyone be held accountable for these privacy breaches. Isn't WhatsApp accountable?

What about those media people blatantly displaying it on TV screens.

Can this be allowed and tolerated in any civilized society. Whether criminal or not, whether druggie or not people are entitled to have their privacy. Isnt it absolutely shameful and illegal to leak private chats like this regardless of their content?

True.. I know people who have stopped sharing intimate stuff on whatsapp post this incident. We realise that anything online is not safe..

However, in while investigating such serious crimes. government agencies /police does access all such details

This godi media has no morals whatsoever, and has no consideration for human rights.

True. Either the chats are fake or NCB is leaking it to Godi media. Shame

If the chats are real, they are coming from the NCB. Is that even allowed? Can't this "evidence" become inadmissable in court if it's already been made public prior to investigation?

Regardless, I'm completely against the media showcasing these details and painting the actresses as 'drug users' prior to any official statements.

ED and NCB have been selectively leaking chats which are so unprofessional and unethical of them and it's also a sign that they want to fasao Rhea and want to create anger in the public about her. By giving these chats to the media, they are encouraging the vilification of this girl.

I can't believe people are so blind they cannot see this. It's like they take pleasure in engaging in this voyeurism that they don't see this is so so wrong!

i am seriously confused..

if intelligence agencies in UK and US etc can't tap whatsapp messages, how do these indian TV channels get chat logs from them?
