In Pakistan something similar is happening even to this date where judge is allowing abducted Hindu girls(minors as well) to be married to muslim abductors.

But most movies from 80s with 2 or more out of Sridevi/Jitendra/Jayaprada in them are made by Telugu producers, if not remakes of Telugu films.

Most mainstream Telugu films at that time were very regressive compared to Hindi films, hence when Telugu producers made Hindi films they were like that too

Well, this is despicable. Even 90's movies were filled with misogynistic shit, specially david dhwan movies. Most involved stalking, eve teasing and then gems like biwi no.1 where a woman has a to 'reform' her husband and gf is poyrayed as a villain the minute she refuses to budge with hero's weird demands.

People who think 90's were good for cinema are still wearing rose colored glasses, i rather watch bollywood of 60's.

They ban socially relevant movies like the Marathi movie Halala.
