Prerna and her mentor decided to leave kolkata without punishing anurag legally which they should have done.it was pre and her mentors decision to not meet Sharma's and no contact with them.it was their decision to let Sharma's assume pre is either no more or left them for any reason.i guess pres mentor did not had the guts to punish anurag that's why he decided to run away to London.He was so scared what will mr Basu do.
I don't feel anurag is slightly responsible for pre and her mentors decision.i guess this point is being addressed in the show only.when buddha appolosize that he wanted to make pre strong so he did not want her to come back or contact anyone.
