Abhi and Rhea reached Sarita ji's house right at 9 in the morning to pick up Pragya and his eldest daughter Prachi and officially take them home. They rang the bell and waited outside as Abhi glanced at his watch impatiently. Sarita ji opened the door and welcomed them into the home.
'Sarita ji...woh... Pragya kahaan hai?' he asked her with an urgency in his tone as he walked in. Sarita ji smiled at him and told him...'apne kamre mein hai.tayaar hoti hogi. aap chale jaana.Aage jaake right.' Rhea wanted to meet her twin again since they had a lot of fun together earlier and had a lot in common.
'Prachi...prachi kahan ho tum?' she eagerly called out.
'Rhea!!!Main yahaan hoon.' Rhea went into her sister's room and started chatting with her.
'Thanks Sarita ji.' Abhi sneaked into Pragya's room and closed the door. He found her draping her pallu around and slowly walked and hugged her from behind. His hands clasped tightly on her waist while he placed his head on the nape of her neck. Pragya was not surprised but yelped at the sudden invasion of her privacy and a smile automatically broke on her face as she placed her hand on his cheek.
'Aap itni jaldi aa gaye.' Mujhe laga ki aap thodi der baad ayenge.'Pragya said as they looked at each other in the mirror.
'Thodi der baad?Woh kya hota hai?Mujhse intezar nahi ho raha tha. Raat bhar mein so nahi paya.Aur kitna intezaar karu mein?' Abhi asked Pragya.
'Mujhe bhi neend nahi aayi kal raat ko.' Abhi planted a kiss on her neck and took in her fragrance. 'I love you,Pragya.' he said as she closed her eyes and tried to soak up all the love her husband was showering up on her.
'I love you so much.' Pragya said and hugged him with tears in her eyes. They stayed in each other's embrace and cried their hearts out. A little later, they wiped each other's tears as Abhi took her face in his hands and kissed her on her forehead, cheeks, chin and finally on her lips. They missed each other. Loving, cherishing and supporting each other. The way they fit in each other's arms, their easy familiarity and banter with each other.Their love and care for each other. Abhi thought they shouldn't have separated in the first place. And for such a long time. He vowed to himself that he will spend whatever time is left on this earth with her and she along with his children would be his number 1 priority in life.
'Pragya...' Abhi called her as he took something out of his jacket pocket. 'Haanji... she said in the same sweet tone he loved.
'I have something for you. Turn around.' he said.
She did and he opened the jewellery box with a diamond studded mangalsutra in it .
She looked at him with tears swelling in her eyes and then put her arms around him in a possessive hug.
He returned the hug with as much passion and enveloped her in his arms. He kissed her forehead tenderly.
'Pehna dijiye mujhe.' she asked him. He took the mangalsutra out of the box and put it around her neck. When he was done doing it, he kissed her neck. 'I love you,Pragya'.
Pragya brought her sindoor box from the mandir. He opened the box and took a pinch of the sindoor to fill it in her maang. Once he did that, he kissed her forehead again.
He wondered how he could've ever lived without her for so long. There was nothing better than being loved by Pragya. Nothing better than being her husband. Being loved by her, her love and warmth enveloping him and making him feel like a worthy person. He missed being wanted by her. He missed the way she cared for him. He missed taking care of her. Just being with her, holding her hand, spending time with her, talking to her, sharing his life with her, listening to her talk about her day. He missed everything and he was the biggest fool for letting her go on that fateful night all those years ago. No matter how angry he was with her, he shouldn't have let her go. He should have reigned in his anger to think about their young children.
'Suniye. Kahan kho gaye?'(Where are you lost?) Pragya asked as he came out of his thoughts. 'Kuch nahi.Chale? Hame der ho rahi hai aur ghar pe sab hamara intezar kar rahe hai.'(Let's go. It's getting late and everyone is waiting at home for us).
They came out of the room when his 10-year-old daughter Prachi ran to him and hugged him. 'Papaaaa...am ready to go home.' she said. 'Prachi!!!Mera sher bacha.' he held his daughter in a bear hug as he was close to crying. 'Uff..Papa. Ab rona mat shuru kar dena.'
Abhi chuckled at his daughter's disdain for drama. Juts like him.'Main kahaan ro rah hoon?'
Rhea similarly ran into her mother's arms and hugged her. 'Mom!!Am so excited that you are coming home.' Pragya looked at her daughter and hugged her to her chest.' Am so excited too baba. I get to spend all my time with you.Give me a high-five.' they high-fived and moved to the living room.
Abhi and Pragya thanked Sarita ji profoundly for all her help and Abhi especially thanked her for looking after his wife, being good company for her and his daughter. They bid farewell to her and took off to Mehra house.
At the Mehra Mansion:
Pragya held her husband's hand after getting out of the car. Her youngest daughter held her hand on the other side while Abhi held Prachi's hand. When they reached the entrance of the mansion, Indu daasi, dadi, Tayiji, Tauji, Mitali Bhabhi were all ready to welcome them at the door.
Indu daasi did the arthi for Pragya while Abhi put his hands around her waist and held her. 'Oh dad...kya kar rahe hoi aap?yuck', Prachi said. Abhi and Pragya along with other family members burst out laughing at her words. 'Prachi ki bachi...close your eyes.' he put his hands on her eyes.
Then they all stepped into the house as one happy family. Abhi and Pragya promised to each other that they would never let this family unit of theirs break ever again. No matter what happens. No matter how angry they are at each other.
