I’m honestly tired of people pushing to boycott films of star kids. While they do get their first films easily, they have to be good to stay in the industry.
I read this interview a few days ago; don’t remember the source (if anyone knows please link it so I can give proper credit :). It was along the lines of if nepotism meant success, Abhishek Bachchan would be a lot more popular than Hrithik Roshan. However he isn’t - and it’s because Hrithik is (in my opinion) one of Bollywood’s finest. He has proved himself again and again as a versatile actor (Guzaarish for example)
One of the people who this debate has affected the most is Alia Bhatt. I honestly don’t understand why she’s getting most of the hate - she is a very talented actress. Whether you like or dislike her, you cannot deny her talent.
Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar have also been getting a lot of heat. Didn’t Aditya launch Anushka Sharma, another excellent actress with no film connections?
I think it’s unfair that Karan Johar is getting so much blame. Like death threats, really?? His debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, was an excellent film. Both Kajol and Rani are products of nepotism, however they are two of the finest actresses to grace the silver screen.
As for Kangana Ranaut, I think she is borderline psychotic. To me it seems that she is taking everyone she’s had an issue with and destroying their public image. She is the Indian Trump on Twitter, and for every tweet there is a tweet that says the exact opposite. For example:
Tweet 1: Mental illness should be taken very seriously.
Tweet 2: Deepika Padukone is faking her mental illness.
Kangana cherry picks whatever helps her case, and is lashing out at random stars. Calling Ranbir a rapist, constantly attacking Sonam, Alia, Deepika, etc., claiming she wants justice for Sushant Singh Rajput but instead uses that as a front to attack whoever has pissed her off.
What do you think? Thanks for reading!
