To be honest I have personally seen instances where parents have had no clue of what shit their kids pull off despite living under the same roof. I know a person who had no idea his son used to consume heavy drugs in the same house. I am not for a moment holding a brief for Rhea's father. I feel, I read somewhere earlier (from your posts) that you are from similar (army) background too. Then this denial is normal. We all associate ourselves with our professional, gender, regional, religious and ideological identities. When we hear about someone doing a crime, who matches with our identity, our first reaction will be denial only (I can't think of doing it myself. How can other?).

I have faced such dilemmas before, in some other incidents. People belonging to another ideology bought it easily. For me, it took time to sink and accept it. But if we are honest in search of truth, we will accept it eventually, even if it bitter to hear.
