One of the final quotes from HBO's Chernobyl that is very relatable to today's world:
"When the truth offends, we lie and lie until we can no longer remember it is even there, but it is still there. Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid.”
The noble man compares and estimates himself by an idea which is higher than himself, and a mean man, by one lower. The noble one produces aspiration and the vulgar man, ambition which is the way Varun is headed.
The earth has a limit
The mountain, the sea;
The deep thoughts of kings are
Without boundary.
This is the true royal nature of Abir; he comes and helps Nirmala Soni and Varun when he sees them sad, supports them and offers them worthwhile advice. He thinks and rules like the king.
This vulgar ambition of revenge makes Varun, a liar and cheat and he hides the truth in his heart about his brother and like a juggler speaks an entirely different version of “his concocted truth”. He is boxing himself in to cut all goodwill off Abir. The Sonis create a scenario where they plan to throw Abir, off course but little do they know of the wisdom, innovation and wit of Abir Rajvansh.
“Varun is foolish and seeks happiness in the distance but Abir is wise and grows it under his feet.” Varun and Nirmala Soni are trying to make Mishti accountable for Karan’s death without proof.
Abir doesn’t frame anyone without proof. He investigates and then wrings the culprit dry. He suspects Kuhu but does not accuse her of desecrating the dolls. He looks for the dots, connects them and then catches the offender red handed in their vulgar act.
He is a TITAN. The Titans were the former gods, the generation of gods preceding the Olympians in the Greek Mythology. They were known for their strength both mental and physical. As birds of the same feather flock together, Rajvansh Household will soon witness the welcome of other Titans to join Abir – Bade Papa and Badi Maa and together with Kunal and Parul Maasi they will work to protecting Mishti and their family. I do miss the golmatol Titan Jugnu.
Kuhu should tell Kunal whatever she has done. It is a rule that a cannon should be100 times heavier than its ball or projectile. A person’s character should be100 times heavier than what she/he says. Just consoling Abir, that you will find the culprit, is not going to win you back into the bro band, Kuhu. Why would he come to you for help when you have betrayed him?
You have to start by ‘’fessing up to your husband about all your retractions small and big and then take it from there. Instead you are still asking him to “frown” at Mishti.
Frowning at Mishti will cause his bhai to frown too and that’s the last thing Kunal wants. The most beautiful dialogue of the day was:
"Yeh jo smile hai na sunshine waali...Iskey bina gharmein andhera ho jaayega bhai...You can't go...” (Yes, Kunal we agree bro, we all go gaga when Shaheer smiles/ laughs…we want to freeze him on our screens and hearts forever !!)
I'll let you in on a secret Kunal, I always sing the sunshine song when he smiles:
You’re my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey…
Please don’t take my sunshine away
Kunal will get steaming mad at you Kuhu at first and will feel trapped in his marriage to you but you deserve it and you know that. The conquest of self, that philosophers talk about is not easy and had you strived and learnt it from Mishti Mahaan from childhood, it would have come to you naturally, but you didn’t, so better late than never Kuhu.
It is only imperfection that complains of what is imperfect. The more perfect we are, the gentler and quieter we become even towards the defects of others. To emerge into a butterfly from the grisly caterpillar that you are now, you have to free yourself from the cocoon of lies and deceit, so chop-chop, get on the job and ASAP, because your bro needs you now. Iam not going to mention your sister lest you detract again and swerve from the righteous path but then you know Abir’s wrath if you walk the anti Mishti path again.
Kuhu, you truly become #badi, #mature and #cool only when you lose your #hatred, #rudeness towards Mishti especially. She has been nothing but good to you despite the swings you have taken at her, the insults, and the pill fiasco, Janmashtami crime, Email hacking etc. So, get out of the nonsensical Kuhuland, like Kunal advises you. You are still acting as if Abir will forgive you and move on; you have to repent or do you not know what that word means.
Honor the tree, that is Mishti, she has given you the shade that is Kunal. The world comprises of givers and takers. You have taken enough; now is the time to give #love, #kindness, #respect. The takers may eat better but the givers sleep better. If you do change, your pupil may too so it’s a double win for Abir, your bro.
Mishti gives even when she is hurt, and today, she is the person that guided Abir to the dinner table. She does the morally right thing and hence is Mishti “Mahaan” for you, Mighty Mishti to Naanu, and Angry Chorni to Abir. They say the key to a man’s heart is through his stomach but its Mishti that holds the key to Abir’s heart and Abir holds the key to Kunal’s heart.
There is a proverb from the middle east which says, ”A foolish man is determined by anger without cause ( that which you show towards Mishti), speech without profit, ( towards Meenu), inquiry without object ( the doubts that you have – if Abir has disclosed), putting trust in a stranger(Varun) and mistaking foes for friends ( Jasmeet Chachi not a foe per say but an enabler). ”
The family dynamics on the table, today deserves a special mention because it almost seemed that everything was normal, something that never happens in the RV Household; with Abir and Mishti’s entry it was like the whole place lighting up like Diwali diyas, adding to the aura that is Kunal. Teasing Ketu and Kunal has been an inherent nature of Abir and he appears to be the old, playful Abir that we longed to see, so full of love for his Nanko and Ketu-Setu.
Wonder what the Meenu agenda is though. Her cold calculating eyes, seriously give me the heebie-jeebies with her comment about Kunal taking care of everything; so Abir is spoiling everything? Ketu’s wedding is salvaged because of Abir, do you not see that?Yes Meenu, you do not know or fathom the treasure that’s Abir and I wonder why that is. Kunal will take care of everything but understand this Meenu, he is well aware of your conniving schemes and is more Maasi’s son now and he adores Abir and his bhabhi. You destroy or make plans to destroy Mishti you lose both your sons. Mishti’s ultimatum will come true. Wonder what dirty plans you are making with Mr. Kedia? Kunal’s plan with him backfired last season and now yours will too.
Remember that story where the king who was afraid of wasps slept and relaxed while he hedged his safety to the monkey with the sword. You think Kunal will protect you and take care of everything. Kunal is astute and empathetic and adores Abir. Unlike the monkey he now knows right from wrong. There’s one thing very similar to the ending of the story – it’s your nose on the line like the foolish King’s, kahin Naak cut na jaaye!
Your face appeared more shocked when you saw BM/BP; why is that when everyone else was happy, Meenu? Thank goodness Kunal is also here and he fully understands his brother and loves him unconditionally and is the Nanko we all love and have always wanted. He will turn out to be the official problem solver now. He cares enough about his bhai-bhabhi to make his personal relationship with them work, unlike you.
I strongly feel that Kuhu will be playing the winning ball against Meenu this time. She has guts and is daring and what better way to get into Abir’s good books again. All she needs is direction and should differentiate between right and wrong and we know that Abir means the world to her so she will commence her game plan of setting things right. Don’t know if Nidhi Maami will show her the way, now that she has eavesdropped on the Kedia conversation but let us wait for the #Kuhunessball to roll.
“The come hither, a little bit closer.
Because the air is separating us wider.
Lips flutter, eyes mate.
And thus, its ealed our fate,” the sensual song that Abir sang to Mishti yesterday ending with his “I LOVE …”and that pakdan pakdai game that they played yesterday, has definitely put Abir in a good zone to deal with the scum that’s Varun. Abir has created a counter strategy to deal with the person threatening, unaware that its Varun.
Abir, my heart goes out to you. You truly are a blessing to those around you.
समुद्र मंथन का था समय जो आ पड़ा (Rajvansh parivaar mein),
द्वंद्व दोनों लोक में विषामृत पे थाछिड़ा
अमृत सभी में बाँट के,
प्याला विष का तूने खुद पिया (Abir).
Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains taken to bring it to light Varun. Varun,ek kahaani sunaathi hoon aapko and maybe for your own sake and Ketki’s and your unborn child you will see the light.
There was once was a farmer who was carrying a lot of jewelry for his daughter’s wedding. A thief boarded the same train. The journey was a fairly long one and the thief saw the farmer clutching the money bag tightly to his chest while he slept and when awake. He really did not know how to rob the bag. Even when he went to the restroom, he took the bag with him.
One night, when the farmer slept and started to snore, the thief set about his plan of looking for the bag because the farmer had hidden it somewhere. He searched high and low but did not find the bag and was aggravated just like you are in not being able to get Mishti to confess.
Finally, the day to the destination was just hours away and the thief was not only desolate but also perplexed and decided to own up.
He told the farmer, Iam a thief and I’ve been looking everywhere for that moneybag, tell me now that you are going home, where did you hide the bag?
Oh,that was simple, I hid it in your bag. The thief was aghast.
We are sometimes like the veteran thief. We search for truth and happiness elsewhere for a lifetime not knowing when to let go and unaware that we hold it right in the bag called our mind, Varun. Once you get control of this bag, all your illusions, pain, violence, motivation for revenge, will vanish and you can start your life with Ketki on a happy note.
Rightful living generates a peaceful silence within you and the disturbing thoughts that your mother whispers in your ear will stop chattering and making unhealthy, destructive noises.
The happiness that you seek outside (in Mishti and Abir by planning and taking revenge) is very much inside your own mind. Carpe diem Varun Soni!
