We saw how Aniruddh got worked up in the initial episodes where a man was being beaten up by Somnath because he was apparently from a lower caste and he drank water from RCs tank or something. We see the same Aniruddh speaking to himself about how he wouldn't let the mosquitos drink up his 'Roy Chowdhary Blood.' The same Aniruddh keeps shouting his name with all pride, 'Aniruddh Roy Chowdhary'.

Trust me even i get goosebumps when I hear him saying his powerful name with his eloquent dialect.(because of why it adorns my siggy space) But isn't it contradicting considering he himself finds caste system as a social evil? Should he be flaunting the RC tag he's got by birth when its nothing but a caste name which gives him an additional pound of luxury that other sections of the society doesn't get?

What are your thoughts?😲

He is still very young Sujz, and he is obviously proud to be a Roy Chowdhury. Once he becomes more mature, he'll change these ways of himself too. It'll take a bit of time. But he'll outgrow this habit. 😆 Am I even making any sense or no?

Maybe IDK yaar. Even I am in conflict. 😆

This is my explanation:

Tbh Roy Chowdhary and things like these are surnames not necessarily caste names and with the context of the story, they are landlords under the British Rule. Roy Chowdhary is a surname and when it comes under Bengali, they are brahmins. So RC is a surname for me. I wouldn't have a problem until he flaunts it or belittles others for his profit which I know he wouldn't do. TBH I don't think in North India People see it as a matter of caste, that's just their surname and mostly used as family name.

@bold - the times I have seen him mention is name is probably in the boat scene when the widows said roy choudhary sahab jhoot nh bolenge

So he said agar kisi roy chowdhuri ki bt hi atal sach hoti hai toh ek roy Chowdhury keh raha hai yeh vidhva nh hai.

I feel like that was more of a sarcastic remark that he also is a roy Chowdhury so his words should also be taken as true

Otherwise I don't really see him using his name for better luxury at all.

The other times I have heard him take his name is when he said mein aniruddh roy Chowdhury iss larki ka khayal rakhna which is I think a subconscious thing that people including me do when we are about to take an important decision like that

For eg- sometimes I say mein shirin hossain iss duniya pe raj karungi😂😂😂

That doesn't mean i am trying to flaunt my name

Still him using that is an encouragement for the existing caste system isn't it? And he has been flaunting it at times, almost many times whenever he promised or took an oath. Isn't it against the basic argument of the show?

I understand where u are coming from but i am some one who speaks like ani at times when I take an oath or give a promise I tend to use my full name as a way that i am serious about the thing that i am talking about. Am I trying to flaunt my surname no but it's just the way I speak. U can it's my lingo. I don't really think as a character when he takes his name he is trying to flaunt it he probably is just using his full name to sound important

My question is should he be having his caste as his surname? As someone who stands for equality and holds humanitarian feelings, should he be a part of a caste? The entire basement of the caste system stands on inequality and discrimination. So won't that contradict the basic thing he stands for?

Maybe its not about caste but about how he relates to his identity (his name). Anirudh Roy Chaudhary- this name is a part of his identity his personality. Atleast this is what i feel like🥱. Even i am obsessed with my name 😆 ditto like Anirudh. It gives me a sense of pride because this is what makes me what i am today ....this is how i identify myself.

And let me clear it that i am totally against castism and all so yeah it's really not because of this reason.

Also maybe we should wait and see if Anirudh changes this habit of his as well. He told his father that he will change himself to bring change in the society. So let's wait and watch though i love the way he says his name ❤️

My name has two names just for this reason😆😆 My parents believe people should know about you through your work not because of your birth or caste. So, our name has first name and last name , no surname or family name.

I understand what you mean here, he isn't saying Anirudh but Anirudh"Roy Chowdhary",but, then I also feel that when we talk about gender inequality we don't want to make them one , we want to treat them one, ofcourse this caste sytem is a human invention(a very bad one though😆) and hence can be completely uprooted unlike the gender thing but Anirudh treats everyone equal and that is the first step, despite being a Roy Chowdhary.

He is used to take his full name and that's his style but once he realises that his full name is also promoting caste-ism subtlety I am sure he will go beyond that.
