Her first film andaaz saw her debut with a meaty role where the story was based on her character even though priyanka comes in the movie later.. just wondering why lara didn't gain that much fame is it because of her acting, movie choices or anything else..

Lara and Sushmita were both too intelligent for BW.

I feel they both were made for something better than BW.

She had potential but luck just did not favour her I guess .Most of her movies were box office bombs after Andaaz ..Hardly any hits in her kitty except No Entry ,Masti ,Housefull and Bhagam Bhag .Poor Choices I would say!

Too anglicized and modern to have a mass connect. Usually actresses need to excel at Indian dance, expressions, carry off that traditional "heroine" look like Shraddha, Deepika, Madhuri, Sridevi type. Also needs to pull off modern roles but the former is more important.

Also watching her interview with Simi Grewal I feel she was not too ambitious. I think she is happy though and has married well. She and PC were crowned the same year but PC was always hyper focused.

She couldn't act but her Universe final round is grace personified. Her performance was one of the highest rated perf. in competition.

Even sushmita can't act very well. She is fine but she is one of the best human being we have there in thebollywood.

Not everyone is obsessed with fame and stardom, or even success. The likes of Alia and most insiders judge their worth on the basis of their fame and popularity because they grew in such an environment.

Usually, outsiders aren't as obsessed because most of them come from regular households.

Film industry is a very frantic sphere of work and you need specific coping mechanisms to survive in such a cut-throat environment. It's actually not "normal." That's why you see cases of alcohol dependency, excessive smoking, drug additions, etc.

Not everyone has the ambition to define their lives by the recognition they get. Some people simply want to go about their life in a stress-free manner. I'd assume Lara is one of those people.

Reason could be

1) Clean human not ready to compromise to go on top

2) Not political and thick skinned

3) Bad choices of movies

4) Male chavunist bollywood do not like head strong and honest women like her, diya mirza and sushmita sen
