i don’t know too much, but the way I see it, issue is that these musicians have no control over their songs. It’s t series or zee music or whatever that owns your songs. So when comes to a remake I understand why the original composers are upset. Or when any singer who already sang a song, can be scrapped and replaced.
In essence, it’s your talent, but the labels reap not only the profits but also the benefits cuz they can have another singer do a cover/remake etc.

This is similar story even in the west, although it seems the situation is evolving with many singers buying back their songs from recording labels. I am not sure BW is doing that, or can do that.

So I get ARRs frustration. It’s not only that the whole music industry sucks right now, you add the politics to survive, it’d take the willpower of a a saint not to feel embittered .

Wonder what labels will be given to Shekhar Gupta and Rehman now! Neither are they right wing, nor or are they unsuccessful.

Musicians in Hollywood owned their music by creating their own record label or have copyrighted owned by writing or composing, they should do that for original composers like ar Rahman

Trashy punjabi songs of TODAY. I m a punjabi myself. It was not to degrade anyone but the quality of punjabi songs in bollywood has degraded.

Not everyone in India likes punjabi music either, so what's your point? his choice, his will.
