Frankly i enjoyed this sh*t. i was cringing and laughing at the same time. its sadly the scenarios in arranged marriage in India...and frankly in an arranged marriage process its hard to check off all the boxes of preferences so the word compromise is overused in the show..But Sima taparia from mumbai is unintentionally funny!

Damn. She deserved much better though. ❤️
Also, this was so condescending towards asians!
On topic: bahut sun raha hoon iske baare mein. Saala dekhana padega ab lagata hai...
Thanks for the heads up.
Will make sure my parents stay away from it 😆
Reality is much worse actually the way people all around us look for rishtaas 🤢
So true.
My cousin was in much demand in marriage market bec she is the only child.
Apparently uske parents ke marne ke baad sab kuch ussi ko milega... Therefore she is a top class bride material
The reviews have turned me off..
The show is addictive. I also think it showed society as it is- a mirror and reflection. I was uncomfortable, especially during Akshay and his demanding mother's scenes as she dictates terms about a future daughter in law but I know a looooot of people like this.
It is a reality for a lot of people, unfortunately. Aparna was just hilarious though and shes become an internet sensation
It was weird actually... Felt like they wanted to pander to both Desi and NRI audience and it ended up being neither here nor there..
I don't know if it's script or not but Seema came across as extremely condescending towards all the potential clients especially towards the girls. Hearing "compromise" again and again , I cringed so hard😣😣
P.s : both the guys from India - their behavior was so off-putting 😒 made me rethink about my future really
What a crap-fest. Hilarious nonetheless. And scripted as hell. I felt I have seen many of these faces in some side character roles.
Seema Aunty is so typical and stupid. The show also made me think that rich class, upper class and upper middle class are much more backward thinking, rigid and superstitious than middle class people. I have seen nothing like such regressiveness and I have seen, heard, observed a lot of Arrange Marriages of different backgrounds, across different states. Yaha pe toh.. they are constantly looked down.
Another thing that I keep saying to kids in their 20s. Lagta hai it’s easy to spend life alone, chasing career, being adventurous, traveling n all that fluff, trendy show off but once you hit 30, you become desperate. Most candidates were like, I was being career focused n missed dating train and now I am going to matchmaker. 30 cross hote Hi, friends bhi bhag jate hai and everyone starts needing companion. Pehle se ek -do ko side mein rakh lo who you can always count on. As a backup plan like how Phoebe did. 😆
Vyasar was the sweetest. Nadia too. I don’t know why she was so insecure of her Gayanese background. I know many Indian origins Gayanese and they are so sweet, fun and confident people. One of the college mate married a Gayanese girl. Such a kind girl. Boy and his family adores her. They think her n her family is more Indian than they could be. 😃
Ankita was fun and I am glad she didn’t compromise for being who she is.
Rest candidates I found quite superficial and rigid. Some of them negative. Ahh dimag side mein rakhke dekho to it was fun time-pass. Definitely gives out wrong generalized notions to viewers who aren’t aware about Arrange Marriage set-up.
It was a fun show. If you keep in mind that it's a reality show but scripted just like other shows then it will be easier to just sit back and enjoy.
Aparna started out a certain way but in the end I could see a slight change in her demeanor..she was a little relaxed and she started enjoying her dates which was a good change👍🏼
I loved Nadia..such a fun loving girl..I really really liked her 😃
Pradyuman was boring..he acted like he's the smartest person in the room and that put me off
I felt so sorry for Akshay..his mom is a tyrant..my god! she's so controlling and aggressive
Vyasar was meh..I think he was being too exuberant and it was all for the camera
Ankita was cool.. I was relieved when she decided not to continue with the matchmaking services..👍🏼
I liked the single mom too..I forgot her name..She had such a nice vibe and she was so positive irrespective of what happened in her life.
Sima is facing a lot of backlash but she was fine. Yes, she keeps asking people to compromise but I have even heard parents say that to their kids so it didn't shock me. She's doing her job..don't see her as a family member/do gooder like Nadia did, she's just trying to increase her success rate/get more business nothing more nothing less.
P.S I felt so sad for Srinivas rao who was the first match for Aparna. The way her family disregarded him and called him a loser That was awful.
Overall, it was a masala entertainer. Don't take it seriously and don't compare it with what's going on in India/abroad.
