Ofcourse you can. You should. But rate it according to quality of the film. If you gonna rate high only because of his demise, and if you think that's your way of showing love and offering condolences then let me tell you it's not. let IMDb function the way it always has, don't try to set a record of something is unworthy(if it is)
IMDB is already manipulated so it doesn't matter. Ever since political sides figured out how to mass vote to "punish" people they don't like, the whole thing lost value. IMDB ratings are not even slightly accurate for Indian films.
If you watch and like a film yourself, that's more than enough. You don't need validation that others felt the same way.

BW Rating on IMDB depends on some certain factors. Just because people manipulating it doesn’t mean it reflects the reality. There were some movies which some wanted to boycott and went to Imdb and gave deliberately bad ratings.
Some fans of actors also run to that page to give flop movies good ratings.
Now this? I mean what’s the point? Remembering a maybe bad film that it got good ratings while his other works maybe actually deserved those good ratings more.
If people feel cool about that then good for them but most people will know it’s fake and it won’t add anything.
BTW the chappak example is bad that movie was average to say the least starts with the acting and ends with the directing. I doubt it deserves more than Uri.
It's 10/10 n the movie is liked by many people❤️ But seriously few Ppl Just judged the movie before it's release n called it average👍🏼
And Yes, Sushant's demise did connect us emotionally to the movie, So?? Every Divya Bharti movie does that, Sri Devi Movies after her demise does that too. If it doesn't connect you that's your sense of emotions. Stop judging others

You know IMDB rating for BW is a joke now. Movies like Uri and Tanhaji getting high ratings where Chapaak getting low ratings even though the latter actually got critical acclaim
Chapaak wasn't that good tbh. Many ppl couldn't connect with it.
The emotional scenes lacked the feel. But that's totally my opinion.
