I wish they would show show Charumati but iss show mein ye log Pradyumna ko hi nahi dikhaenge, forget Charumati. I was really scared before Jamvi's entry,i was quite sure they will show her as a villainous woman and later show Jamvi-Samba as the typical soap opera evil mother-son duo. 😡

Didi, what do you think about that Iravan-Krishna(Mohini) legend ? Kinnars celebrate a festival dedicated to this popular tale.

Iravan, the son of Arjun and Uloopi, the Naga prince fought for Pandavas along with his Naga warriors, he dies in the Kurukshetra war. In South Indian folklore, he agrees to be sacrificed for Pandava's victory in the Kurukshetra war. He is also the deity worshipped by transgender or eunuchs.

On the eight day of the war, Iravan finds Shakuni Mama killing Pandava soldiers by shooting arrows on their back.

For this trickery, the entire legion that Shakuni commanded was killed by Iravan and Naga warriors.

Duryodhana who witnessed the destruction of a large part of his army ordered Alambusa, a demon with magical power, to kill Iravan. Alambusa flies through the air and chops off the head of an unsuspecting Iravan who was engaged in combat with Shakuni. He was killed through trickery.

Alambusa was later killed by Ghatotkacha, son of Bhima.

The other story which you mentioned is the story in Tamil Nadu is entirely different!! Iravan agrees to do self-sacrifice before Goddess Kali for the victory of the Pandavas at the time of Mahabharath war. His only wish was to get married before the sacrifice!! But no woman was ready to get married for a day.

Sri Krishna then takes the form of Mohini and marries Iravan. This single-day marriage is celebrated during the Koovagam Transgender Festival at Koovagam village in Tamil Nadu. iravan is here known as Koothandavara. Regarding that Koovagam ,--- the first 16 days, there is a lot of dancing on melodious songs. Shemales Plays dance, with the voices of the bells on the four sides, the voices of the spirited people are echoing. The surroundings encompass the fragrance of Kapoor and jasmine flowers.

On the 17th day, there is a special puja by the priest, and the coconut is offered to the gods. After that, Mangalasutra is worn in the neck of the kinnars by the priest of the temple in front of the Iravan deity. Which is called a plate. Then, in the Iravan temple, they will marry a statue of Iravan. On the last day, the statue of Iravan is rotated in the Koogam village and then it is broken. After that, the bride, breaks her mangal sutra and also removes all the makeup done on the face. And wear white clothes and beat chest loudly and cry very much, seeing it will be very painful😲😭😑 After that, the Iravan festival ends. And the program of going to their house starts by promising to meet again on the first full moon of next year. A ritual that carries many emotions in the cursed lives of the Kinnaras .πŸ˜•πŸ˜

Rukmini is eternal consort to Mahavishnu and bhu devi is satyabhama.

People immatured fine atleast need to learn this..This fiction I don't care for taking seriously as trp matters. But joking on traditions..idiotic

That Golok realm is pure fiction. I mean why on earth would an avatara of Lord Vishnu reside in another place except Vaikuntha ? Going by this logic there must be 8 other similar realms where Lord Vishnu's other avatars live with their respective wives except Lord Parshuraam & Vaaman dev. Doesn't make any sense to me. They were all part of Lord Vishnu, they descended on earth for a limited time period and went back to merge into their original form except Lord Parshuraam i guess cuz he is known to be a chiranjeevi.

For me Radha was the female embodiment of Krishna,a part of him and his 8 consorts were Mahalaxmi incarnations; Rukmini being full fledged avatara (she knew who she was) and others being partial incarnations (not having full knowledge of their divine origination and having more human characteristics) it makes for an easy analysis.

May be they did dear. It sounds controversial for our human ears cause we tend to separate sexual anecdotes from divine entities. Even Lord Ram & Goddess Sita consummated their marriage. Krishna too did the same, not only with his principal wives but also with his junior wives( they all had multiple children) this phenomenon of Gods producing babies with a magical light or incantation is pretty hilarious. If you have read the story of kubja, Krishna did satiate her carnal desires. We have very different interpretation of sex in today's world thanks to our over-sensationalized pop culture. Back then it was neither a casual one night stand nor a topic to fuss over for a lifetime. They used to treat their bodies as precious gifts of God. For them, sex was like creating poetries with naked bodies. Not a pleasurable sin but a pure union of bodies and souls. Satyavati had such a sensuous encouter with sage Parashara and bore her first child, the legendary Vedvyas. Should we see their consummation as an one night stand or a holy union ? The wife of sage Vishwamitra, Madhavi (daughter of Yayati) was married thrice before. There was this another woman whose name i unfortunately forgot, married four times to four prominent men (sages if i vaguely remember) and mothered four very important sages (i will update when i remember their names) so you see back then nothing was as controversial as it has become now. Radhakrishna's consummation is definitely not a wrong thing if they did. They had each other's consent so i personally don't find any wrong in it. It's just our unconscious bias towards puritanism that makes us react with a gasp when we hear Gods' names and the word sex or its synonyms in a sentence.

I even think Kunti and Madri actually went through physical intercourse with those demigods to bring pandavs. A person of our time would see Madri and Ashwini kumaras' union as threesome but she did so in order to have babies and even Pandu agreed to this. Please correct me if i am wrong. πŸ€ͺ

Add to that he must have been a very good looking man. Why these people show him mostly ugly in appearance and blacken his teeth is beyond me. Nevertheless they really chose an ace actor for Shakuni' s role. πŸ‘ He was only second to Krishna himself in knowledge, manipulation, brain games and eloquence. One hell of an interesting character. No Shakuni no Mahabharta.

At the same time, her very elusiveness has made her a muse for some of the greatest poets. Theologists, too, have repeatedly tried to glean more about her, with varying degrees of success. Radha is less a character, more an idea. At the same time, to her devotees, she is much larger than the male god she usually appears with, inspiring a passion and attachment similar to the one she kindled in Krishna himself. Some believe that the arrogant girl in the Bhagavata Purana who wants Krishna all to herself is really Radha.

In Jayadeva's Geetagovindam, Radha and Krishna were consummated and spent many nights with earthly pleasures.

At the end of the raas, Jayadevas Krishna always disappears with Radha, `deserting the other gopis, to be intimate with her. Thus, Krishna and Radha are at the pinnacle of the love spiral created by the raas leela.

The shringara rasa in Sanskrit poetry had two aspects: sambhogashringara or consummation and vipralambha shringara or separation. It is the interplay of these two modes that lends spiritual import to Jayadevas work, as well as to the poetry of bhakti saints!!

The theme of separation dominates the poetry of Surdas. Simply put, this mode is based on the idea that distance makes the heart grow fonder and therefore, separation from her God/ lover would only intensify Radha's, unconditional love. Jayadeva selected the jealousies and union of Radha Krishna as his theme, and Surdas selected the separation as his main theme to reach pure spiritual pleasure.

Who is rulling Mathura now ? Under whose protection these people are now ? Where is logic ? Why there isn't a crisis even after their king deserted them to find a new shelter ??? Shouldn't the socio-political and socio-economical structure be shaken quite a bit if not wrecked completely by now ? Aren't there much greater things to worry about for Barsana people than the alleged affair of a sadharan gaaon gi gori ?? Where is Vrishbhaan ? Where is Kirtida ? Where is Dhama ? Who appointed Ayan to be the village head ? Isn't he still in his 20s ? Why is there no other village elder other than Ugrapad ? Oh wait !!! Why am i asking sensible questions ? πŸ€ͺ

Suta, here is the next part of Draupadi's answer to Satya.

Following the conversation between Draupadi and Krishna’s wife Sathyabhama is found in Vanaparva (3-38) of Mahabharata:

Amazing details of housekeeping, human psychology, and ancient ways of showing respect – all covered by Vyasa in this chapter.

O blessed lady Satya, my husbands have become obedient to me for my diligence, my alacrity, and for the humility with which I serve my Gurus and my husbands.

Suta, this description shows us how wealthy life the kings in those days used to lead!

Every day I personally wait with food and drink and clothes upon the revered and truthful Kunti, the mother of those heroes.

Besides these, ten thousand Yatis with their desire under complete control had their pure and well-cooked food carried to them in golden plates:

I knew the names and features of every one of those girls and also what they used to eat and what they used to wear and what they used not to do.[ PREFERED TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE MAID SERVANTS!]

O beautiful lady, those foremost of Bharatas, throwing upon me the whole burden of looking after all those that were to be fed by them, would always pay their court to me.

While my husbands were engaged in virtuous pursuits, I supervised their treasury as inexhaustible as the ever full abode of Varuna.

Day and night bearing hunger and thirst, I used to wait upon the Kuru princes, so that my nights and days were equal to me.

This is the great charm ever known to me for making my husbands obedient to me.

Therefore always adore your Krishna with friendship and love !

Avoiding all excitement and carelessness in the presence of men, conceal your mind by observing silence.

Then Satya asked--

Draupadi! Through what mannerisms have you been ruling over the Pandavas, who are handsome heroes as the kings How is it that they behave as if under your control? How is it that they don’t get angry at all with you? How is it that the handsome Pandavas are always under your spell? They keep looking at your face all the time, thinking β€œwhat will she say to me?” For this, are you doing any vrata, Tapas, Mantrasnana, medicine or the power of knowledge or herbs or are there any Japa-Homa for this? Tell me that secret of love which will successfully keep Krishna always under my control. Tell me the glorious secret of your sexual power, Krshnaa! ” Saying this, Satyabhama shyly fell silent.

Then Draupadi said again: β€œI will tell you the blemishless ways of holding your husband’s mind. Friend! If you behave like this, you can keep your husband away from other lovers.

When my husband sleeps out on some family business, I go without flowers and make-up and follow a vow.

β€œWhat my husband does not drink, what my husband does not chew, what my husband does not eat, I avoid it all.

β€œWell trained according to the prescriptions, well-adorned and most eager, beautiful woman, I am bent on what he wants at that time.

Draupadi muses a while making various faces. Satyabhama becomes impatient and slaps her on the back, β€˜Would you be serious? You don’t know what a hell of stress I am going through!’

Draupadi smiled with all the splendor of her pearls, β€˜O.K., I will give you a volley of tips. Listen carefully.

Satyabhama frowns, β€˜Wait Wait! Are you quoting from scriptures or what?’

- O.K. O.K. Here are the strategies along with explanatory notes for your benefit Satya!!!!

The male psyche has tremendous dependence on external signs.

Love feelings are not evoked in an empty stomach. I never indulge in angry and fretful speech. In that way, I am always musical to them. The woman of their dream always speaks and even sneeze in music, you see! I always do what is agreeable. That way they have their cup of machismo brimming! It is a peculiar phenomenon of the male psyche to bask in domineering! I never laugh except at a jest. That way they fear to offend me, and in fact, struggle to make a jest. That way my laughter is so valuable to them!

When they leave home for the sake of any relative, then renouncing flowers and fragrant paste of every kind, I begin to undergo penances. That way I regain touch with my natural self, while they are convinced and know I am not happy in their absence. That way they receive a boost in their ego! Whatever they drink not, whatever they eat not, whatever they enjoy not, I ever renounce. That way they are assured I am perfectly tuned to them. Each except Partha thinks I am made for him! He is too clever for these tricks!

They are the polish of the pearls; I am the thread that holds the pearls together. I must see they do not lose the purpose of their life. The male psyche is a fool, you know! It is clever enough to understand its own foolery, but not braver enough to overcome it. Partha stands out in this respect too!

- So what should I do?

- Just get rid of your fear of losing Krishna. Relax. He is yours. Nowhere will he find more variety than you! You are sulky, you are childlike, and you are also a warrior. Where is your match?

- Draupadi, please tell me, how do you keep them in illusion and not allowing them any chance of disillusion is your secret?

- Not exactly! Men will be disillusioned about a woman after marriage. It is as inevitable as death! So I keep them in the illusion that they have no illusions about me. That way they will not search for real disillusionment!

__________

Suta , edited and censored a bit wherever it is necessary and made it brief. Still many slokas are there . will share later.

OK a few more points in the next post and then I will stop myself πŸ˜›

Didi, first of all a hearty hug to you for writing all of this πŸ€— i just want to know the size of their brains man ! Itna pressure humara brain toh jhelne se raha ! πŸ€ͺ Remembering what !!! The names and appearances of thousands of servants and that too alongside doing the role-play of a good wifey and acting as regent at times !!!!! Sometimes i think she should have allowed the other wives of pandavas to stay with them. Thoda me-time milta uss ko. πŸ˜† Our Draupadi was damn intelligent Didi. she was the mistress of psychological knowledge it seems. She read her husband's minds well. πŸ˜‰

Though why Bhama was so insecure 🀣 ??? Sounds like she is all set to prayog sam/dam/dand/bhed to get her Krishna back ! She should have known her husband was too clever to fall for these tactics but then it was this silliness and nativity of Satya, that made Krishna so fond of her. She was really spoiled by him as compared to her other counterparts.

Too bad i am not getting married else i would have taken most of Draupadi's tips in a heartbeat. πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜‰

Didi, can you please tell us about your views on Parth ? What according to you made him stand out ? What was the reason he became the chosen one ?
