I know what you mean. Such characters walk a very fine line between what is acceptable and what may be bad or even morally wrong. In this show and even in Woh Aik Pal, the deaths stayed with me throughout the show and really made me examine whether the "hero's" actions and reactions were acceptable and their subsequent behaviours such as selfishness wrong or okay? For example, in WAP, Arish was a weak and cowardly man albeit kind but his guilt combined with his love later on made him strong and selfish because he was afraid to lose his wife and child. While Hatim's selfishness was already a personality trait of his, I felt he genuinely did change but his guilt manifested into selfishness and protectiveness wrt: Ramsha and Rubab. He was controlled by his passion and fear instead of actually meaning to be selfish (unlike the man he was before) because now he was in love and had a family to take care of. Complicated I know lol; some shows really make you reflect.

I agree with you. 😊

Also Hatim couldn't change what happened. Ramsha is dead. But at least he could've change the future. He did many things to her family..not just giving them money. He was so good with them. He was caring and he even lost his long lasted bachelority to save their honor. Is this selfishness? If he was a selfish guy, he would've sent them money and disappeared.😉 No. He married Rubab not because he loved her..but because he felt for her father. 😒 and Rubab wasn't a match for him, but he insisted in keeping his marriage with her. It is a big compromise. And he kept doing everything to make her happy. 😊 untill he fell for her. 😳

He was a bad guy because of the kind of upbringing he got in childhood. This is an important aspect of his personality. He can't change in a second. He started off as an angry selfish guy, but his journey was a very convincing one, that we ended up realizing how a person can change if he has the will.

never saw Wap but here I do agree he changed and that was not only because of Ramsha but also because of Rubab. I never once doubted his genuine love and care towards Rubab (even though it started off as guilt but that was just something that had to bring them together because they were meant to be)

My only problem with Hatim was that as soon as he married Rubab, he felt he has done whatever he needed to do to get rid of his guilt and he no longer cared about Ramshas death anymore.

The last 2 to 3 weeks were disappointing for me. They kind of overlooked the entire Ramsha angle and made it Hatim Rubab marriage story centric.. I wish they had shown Hatim look for Ramshas culprits before the truth came out in front of Rubab
