Kangana's national award -gift from ruling party

Do you think Kangana won national awards due to her close connections to ruling party?

I don't think so. I think they were well earned, especially Fashion and Queen.

It's only in the last few years that she's seen an opportunity in being in the good books of the ruling party and has become their unofficial spokesperson.

Her Padma award could be said to be a gift from the govt for being a loyal bhakt, though.

No! Kangana might have issues as a person. I didn't play close enough attention to all her controversies including the Hrithik one besides the court ruling. But there is no denying that she got selected by a quality film maker like an Anurag due to her talent. He saw her auditions. No one can look at her performances and say she wasn't worthy. Unlike Aloo's 15 minute performance in Gully Boy. The National awards have not always been clean or fair. Saif Ali Khan winning was an example of that. But as a whole they have a much better reputation than the Filmfares for fairness.

It was Priyanka, Vidya and Kangana who revolutionized Bollywood cinema with woman centric roles. Yes, the had been done before in the industry for many years by stalwarts like Smita Patel and Shabana Azmi. But it was those three who proved that women centric movies can work commercially as well.

I think none other than her deserved those awards for those years. I liked her acting in Fashion more than PC's , also in Queen she was unforgetable.😊

If you want to complain about something then complain about Saif’s national award he got where his own mommy was a jury member

Kangu became nationalist only since during the Manikarnika shooting started, and all her national awards are way before that phase.

All her eccentricity aside, she is a fantastic actor and deserved all her awards.
