I like Vidhyut right from his debut in Force. I think he is a better version of Tiger minus dancing skill. That said, he can't simply match Tiger's star power, blame it on him being outsider, nepotism, lack of coverage or whatever but the truth is he hasn't been able pull the crowd to the movie theater. I have watched this trailer and I m going to watch this movie for sure.

If you are not ready to sacrifice your entertainment for what you believe in then why are you expecting other's ( basically production houses) to do it?

Now another excuse - Outsider's get bad stories😆. Do you think all of Varun Dhawan's movies have great stories? Except Badlapur and October all are commercial illogical films. Do you think Bhaaghi series has some good story line? No it doesn't. I haven't seen this trailer but i am sure it was not as bad as Varun's ABCD 2 which was a 100 Cr hit with a pathetic story line. So lets accept the fact that even bad stories do well when a star kid is casted or a let me say famous star kid is casted because audience at large is more interested in star kid than an outsider. The current trend is a proof that people are more interested in hating an insider than propping up an outsider.

What do you mean, "even though it has an outsider"? I am (or any audience) not biased towards or against insider or outsider. We treat both the same. If it is a good product, we would watch it from any. It is the filmmakers who are biased and audience are expected to componsate for their bias. (Film maker is going to give better product with insider only. To compensate it, you pay money for a bad product of outsider). That is a great logic.

Varun is not a star kid. Till he was launched by KJo, janta did not know him. But as he was an industry kid, he got connections. Bhaaghi or ABCD, Tiger and Varun gave them after they got established. (I watched Tiger much later after his debut. But he kept getting movies till aam janta like me turned to him). People became familiar with their name in some hit movies. Then they started to go to movies, because of their name. But it (familiarity) takes time. Till then, others cannot sustain. When I say better movies, I did not mean, logical ones. In fact, October was not hit. I am speaking about Masala films which have flow (not some random scenes) and better packaging (commercial elements like foot tapping songs).

How is taking an better outsider (I am not saying Vidyut, I found him expressionless) over Armaan Jain or cutting a better trailer or a story with a plot (not just a bunch of action and sleazy scenes) is a sacrifice for production companies?

This is where your and my vichaardhaaras diverge.

In India, unless there is pressure, we would have NO hopes of any improvement in Bollywood. Think of the outrage (again, criticism and NOT the death/rape threats) as this pressure. The threats are a nuisance that are hurting the critics as well (so stars can say dekho dekho ALL you critics look at yourself in the mirror, this is the real YOU; and things like that).

Chalta hai. Beejness mein hota hai. Cinema mein bhi hon do. Is acceptable to some, but not to all.

I am someone who has worked in front office. I have seen enough one night stands. These things are hidden from everyone. In the cases of sexual harassment and molestation everything is covered up by the companies.

Bollywood is a horrible place. Its all about having as much power as possible.

Just like you found the trailer boring and don't want to waste your time watching it . The big production houses also find insider kids more interesting than outsider.

Some movies with good trailer are horrible. I hate Baaghi series. All Tiger did to act as an uncontrollable aggressive man.

October is how many industrial trainees act. I laughed at many hotel scenes. This movie is quite hilarious in the beginning for many people who are hoteliers.

ABCD series is bad. There are many good dance related movies made in past.

Ppl: omg I wasn’t told....I didn’t know...if only aliaa and kjo stopped rubbing themselves in my face I can concentrate on these outsiders...so much Pr and marketing in my face...why can’t they spend the same money on vidyut

Ans: didn’t u just unfollow them and follow vidyut instead?thats how u will know and u just admitted u won’t give anybody attention unless they scream in ur face...so why blame the aggressive Pr when ur giving it that attention and ignoring the low key ones who silently post their trailer and get it done

🧐

In this country people are interested even a star kids sneezes. Star kids are something many people discuss among friends. Nobody cares for an outsider unless they are successful or starting opposite a big star or star kid.

it’s entitlement to think that someone should spend all that money to gain ur attention ...if u care enough, ud give it attention and following that they will spend their money coz they have a yardstick to go with

People nearly got to my throat when I told them that audience refuses to acknowledge an outsiders. They will follow someone who will get them likes on social media.

Whenever I tell people that I watched all the movies of Vidya Balan as I really love her on screen. They make fun of me saying why I am watching a behenji on screen. Why I did not watched SOTY 2 ? I like nepo kids, but such comments are too much.

Indian audience is fair weathered. This is so true. 😡
