The TV shows made on Mahabharat are a lot more white-washed where they show Pandavas (winning team) as entirely good and Kauravs (losing team) as entirely bad...but if you read the original Mahabharat (I read an english translation because I can't read Sanskrit 😆), It's a lot more neutral. Even though Krishna is a god, he is also shown as "grey" because he claims to be fair but is clearly biased (Later, even he is cursed). But he describes his duty as choosing what is right but in reality he is not choosing what is "right" but rather the lesser of the two evils. Pandavas had their own shortcomings but were better than Kauravas. But even with that, Duroyodhan (leader of losing team) had some good things about him like he didn't believe in caste system and gave Karna and equal opportunity. Now there is some debate about whether it was a selfless friendship or was there some ulterior motive. But even if Duryodhan had some good qualities it was outweighed by his bad qualities. It's like that in real life too...you may do a million good things for a person but you do one thing that is bad and deeply hurts someone...they will forever remember that and all the good things you did don't make up for it. Now I know this is not what Yin and Yang mean but when I look at that symbol it reminds me how there is some good in the bad and some bad in the good. No one is ever completely good or bad. Besides that, I am a strong believer in Karma...that you will get the fruits of your actions in this lifetime. I think the Mahabharat perfectly portrays both of these aspects. I quickly explained most of the things but if you or anyone is more interested to talk about his, hit me up!! This is one of my favorite topics 😆 Sorry for this essay.

I like Ashwathama's character too. Somehow the mystery behind him attracts me.

I think the ones who know Karna's real story have some or the other soft corner for him👍🏼

This reminded me of my grandmother who had shared a story on how naming a child after Arjuna used to be considered inauspicious in some point of time. Don't know how true that it is. Have you or Alina heard about it?🤔

I heard TV shows white washed Karna? Means in reality, he was not that good! And as we hadn't read the real Mahabharat, we have softcorner for him? As a curiosity, I read many questions in quora & most of them see him in a bad light. Like he wanted Bramhashasra only to kill Arjun...is it?
