rkisnothot- was your old ID anonymous39 or something? Just or of curiosity.. your posts remind me an awful lot like hers.

Nice, red herringy user name though 👍🏼

KJo has ruined Bollywood by making it into a command economy, deciding exactly who will star in what. Hopefully with this controversy on his head, it will become more free market..

Take Alia out of Gully Boy, Kapoor & sons and you have an enhanced product.

I’m surprised some of guys are still trying to answer and explain genuinely why Karan is facing what he is facing, when it’s clear that the person asking these questions either don’t see what’s wrong in what he does or just being completely ignorant about the real issue here.

Exactly and that is not okay. He can make all the movies for Alia he wants - but stopping other peoples success, planting blind items, being a bitchy person with a bitchy crew and buying awards and fake reviews for his beti is not right. He can’t play god with the industry.

The problem is not nepotism, entitlement or having contacts. It’s the power play, the mind games and the dirty politics

Which mind games ?

KJO is a public figure more than other producers like Adi Chopra , SLB etc. He hosts a very famous and scandalous show + many events, As a face he is perhaps the most well known producer and if Dharma is a brand today major reason is KJO. So all this makes him more susceptible to hate. I truly don't mind the hate because he is public figure such people need to get used to extreme praises and extreme hatred. Issue is this hatred is seeming quite hypocritical to me now. On one hand ppeople can't stop writing hate messages on the other hand they still want him to continue making movies, continue investing his money only not take his favs like Alia or Jhanvi but take others.😆.Matlan kuch samajh nahin aaya.

Also audience is very easily shifting all the blame from themselves to KJO. As if by hating him audience will redeem themselves. Its the audience who made star kids movie a hit and Sushant's movies flops. Now its very easy to put all the blame on KJO and Alia and forget the role they played themselves.

People blindly believed the rumours about Sushant just like people are now blindly believing rumours about KJO boycotting Sushant or publishing blinds about him etc. There is nothing to disprove or prove any of these claims. But in both cases people blindly believed both the rumors so what they did with Sushant then they are now doing with KJO. So where is the difference.

KJo is soft target because he has openly admitted to certain things such as, getting projects for Alia, making snarky comments about the looks of certain outsiders to dissuade producers, being the gossip center along with couple of Kapoors and so on.

There are a lot of others who also probably do what he does . For example , Tapsee was replaced by Ananya in a film despite reaching an agreement with the makers that she will be cast in it.

But KJo is a soft target because, well, it isn't like as if he has been discreet or apologetic about what he does.

How are the audience preferences or which film they make a hit related to things like inserting yourself into projects as a producer to push your mentee into them and chuck out whoever has already been signed? How does someone from the audience consuming a blind item justify systemic targeting of someone's character during the peak of Me Too movement?

So the burden of accountability should completely bypass the actual people within the industry and fall on the audience?!

I do want one thing to happen though (which is wishful thinking on my part,) - for Masand and the writers of all the other blinds insinuating that he is a pervert - to be questioned by the police. Would love to see them actually come out with who paid them.

Finally - the likes of Soni Razdan are trying hard to center this about just Sushant's depression to deflect attention from their daughter and her mentor. Others from the insider clique are doing this - making it just about the traditional definition of nepotism so that they prove that they are not clique-y because - "Hey look , I gave an opportunity to X outsider , so I'm not an elitist prick" .

Literally no one from the filmi families have addressed the culture of malicious whisper campaign btw. The silence has been deafening. It hasn't just happened with Sushant . It has happened with even Kartik , RKR and others too, though to a lesser degree.

These topics and issues within the industry may have gained traction as something to be discussed and introspected on due to Sushant's demise. But these will still be valid and exist even if one can never prove or know for sure if any of them acted as a final trigger or factor.

Well like you said in your first para we know things about KJO that he has admitted as he is more of public figure than most producers. You think other producers like SLB ,Adi chopra do no wrong . Of course they do its just that they are not public figures like KJO hence we don't have videos of them saying things. Which is why they escape the hate and KJO doesn't as he is easier to hate since we know more things about him thanks to his public shows like talk shows and hosting awards.

Secondly let me correct you Ananya didn't replace Tapsee. Tapsee was replaced by Bhumi. Tapsee clearly says in her interviews that she got the wife's role and not the GF's role hence she was replaced by Bhumi as Bhumi was the wife. See this is what happens you have already made up your mind that Ananya is undeserving hence it was that she who replaced Tapsee but the truth is it was Bhumi not that i makes it right but this is just an example ho how we believe in wrong things are start blaming individuals without knowing what truly happened.

Now about inserting yourself and snatching projects that a whole different discussion. My post isn't about that. Yes its definitely wrong but we need a separate post to discuss these cases of snatching of projects.

Where have i said accountability should be bypassed? Infact i am saying the opposite it should be shared. I did say i don't mind the hatred Karan is getting as he is public figure but i do mind how audience is not sharing the accountability. They are not admitting that they are part of the problem. People are not admitting that they do get attracted to star kids movies more than outsiders hence a terrible star kid movie like SOTY2 also does well..If we don't accept we are part of the problem then nothing will truly change. I will again say be the change you want to see. How did Raazi a female centric movie became a hit? Its not like some aliens went to the movie hall😆. It was we the audience only. So it was we the audience who gave Alia the hits. Now we are acting like oh KJO and Alia are the biggest problem and we the audience have no role. My point is simple if we truly believe in the outsider struggles and want to bring in change it wont happen by only writing hate messages on SM. Audience also needs to taka a real action i.e don't watch Dharma movies . Watch outsider movies. Support them. I will again say hate KJo as much as you want but do other things as well like bringing changes in your own movie watch lifestyle by trying support outsider movies.

You have listed several pother problems in Bollywood as well and we need a separate posts to discuss those. My posts is only for the hypocrisy of this hate wherein people want to continue watching Dharma movies but just want to bully Karn with their hatred into not casting his favs like Alia or Jhanvi. Even in this thread no one has clearly said ya i wont watch Dharma movies from now. Because no one wants to sacrifice their entertainment for what they believe in i.e the struggle of outsider. I mean personally i didn't watch Kabir singh and i don't watch any luv Ranjan films since i find it all misogynist hence against my beliefs and hence i don't watch these films no matter how entertaining they are.

😆 There are gundas in Bollywood who get away with biggest crimes due to their position and power. If u still fail to acknowledge this side of Bollywood then there is nothing more left to say.

Gundas of bollywood generally have audience support. Look at the fans of Salman Khan.

That's what I said and people like Sushant are nobody Infront of salman. He has already done stuff to Vivek despite being industry kid. He wasn't outsider yet he went through a lot.

Yes, I got the facts with Tapsee's replacement wrong, but it still holds up because I brought it up as an example of how outsiders are dumped from projects and don't get the professional courtesy of even being told what's happening. And Tapsee has hinted this has happened many times.

Yes, I know KJo isn't the only one (obviously, that's why I brought it up). Why do you think others don't get hate? Adi Chopra and SLB have also been heavily criticized. Especially Adi C. But they aren't active on social media. So it seems to be directed at them less.

And why exactly would the SM users sit and make long drawn analysis and observations of who all have done sneaky shit and then distribute equal amount of hate or whatever to everyone's way ? They will think of whoever has been shooting their mouth off all these years in interviews, and whoever is the most visible and accessible on social media. He will be targeted because he has, by his own words, admitted he isn't above gossip mongering, meddling in projects etc.

Again why should 100% of the people criticising him be "leading by example" by supporting solely outsiders movies in theatres and boycotting Dharma ones all these years ? Maybe there are others like you among the "trollers" who actually don't watch certain type of movies regardless of who is acting in it? Just speaking for myself, I have never been a fan of the big budget glossy entertainers that the insiders usually get as launchpads so I have not watched a lot of them in the theatres. I must've watched just one Salman Khan film in the theater in the past 12-13 years. Since we are just talking about the hate directed to KJo on SM, how do you know how much percentage of people stan nepo kids or outsiders? Even if 100% of them do watch just Dharma movies, I don't believe it is hypocrisy if they are calling him out. They are calling out certain behind the scenes practices which has nothing to do with a movie's fate.

And there are lot of people (like me) who don't even feel the sole reason he is getting hate is because of him taking insiders. So people not taking some public stand of boycotting something is not hypocrisy. Take insiders or take outsiders. Just do your own damn thing. Don't meddle with others work and don't expect to coast through your whole life without being called out for all the questionable work ethics.
