Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan’s comedy-drama Coolie No 1 might see a theatrical release only. The makers are keen on releasing the film on the big screen and have also decided on a release date as well...

Reportedly, the makers of Coolie No 1 held various meetings to decide the release route for the film. After several meetings, the makers concluded that as the film is a comedy-drama, it will be a relief in these dire times of anguish and thus, the makers have picked a New Year’s release date, January 1, 2021 to showcase the films in theatres.

The report adds that filmmaker David Dhawan received many offers from the OTT platforms, however, he is ardent for a theatrical release for Coolie No 1.

Good decision ..Hopefully cinemas are back in full swing by new year!

If there's no vaccination out by then, I doubt people will take the risk of going to the cinemas.

I doubt cinema halls will be open next year too.

Personally, I feel all made films should go OTT or TV Premieres. This way at least the producers will at least breakeven and the buzz for films won't fizzle out.

vaccination should be out to open back cinemas to what it was before otherwise film industry will always be a doom even if they open the cinemas its only with smaller percentage that might not be able to cover a film and if triple the ticket price noone will even step in cinemas

Ab in david dhawan type directors ki fatte gi..In the indian setup their movies are made for people who love hanging out in malls and just think of watching the movie for timepass, or those who wanna waste money on trashy movies and watch it because there is nothing else coming in the theatre, or for people who are just born idiots. If they release on ott, not many peope will watch it....ott people mostly prefer quality content aur coolie no 1 toh quality ko chod ke sabh kuch hogi.

I hope the movie bombs. Kaun banata hai movies like coolie no. 1 in this era??

there won't be any vaccination till 4 years. everyone is optimistic that the vaccination coming soon, at least by end of next year. but not happening.😆
