Radhika as a concept is interesting but her actress ruined the show.

For this we need to separate Radhika from Kanika and imagine her being played by a talented actress like Adaa Khan for example. The character is Pragati’s first daughter who Pragati has abandoned so that she can give give birth to her sister. Pragati being the foolish idiot she is didn’t ensure Radhika was hidden safely with people who would care for her and protect her. Instead she didn’t comprehend she might die in the fight and her firstborn will be left in the cave to die or worse she would he adopted by an evil and powerful enemy who would raise her for his own nefarious purposes to create a dragon to fight against her sister. Worst case scenario happened and what’s even more appealing is that even Erul actually started to care for Radhika like his daughter genuinely in his own twisted way. He wants to use her Naagin blood to bring life to his dream: the -all powerful dragon. He also wants some secret documents for which he has encouraged Suris to actually raise that scientist’s kid ie Aryaman. Radhika decides to ensnare Aryaman and make him fall in love with her and marry him to get those documents. However dragon experiment is almost completed so she cancels the wedding and goes to complete it. It risks her life but is successful. In fact she herself is the great and terrible dragon now. Then she has a war with her sister whom she meets the first time. She looses to her but survives. She realises some time later her sister married her ex boyfriend Aryaman which has caused a huge dent to her plans to get that document. Then she re enters Aryaman’s life and gets aquainted with Ahana and Aryaman. She creates a sob story why she had to leave Aryaman to enter in good graces of everyone while she uses a con man as a dragon spy to convince Ahana and Bharni that dragon is dead and Radhika is innocent. Now Ahana won’t focus on the dragon and would finish the suris for her and give her the Naagmani herself just like she got the dragon Moti. The character is well connected to major villains and both male lead and female lead and also the previous season’s lead. She sounds like an interesting character on paper and perhaps the only villain on the show you can feel sorry for. She was wronged by people around her and she wasn’t born as a villain.

Yet this character has become one of the biggest dents of this franchise, even bigger than Nia Sharma or making Vishakha evil in S4 or using Surbhi Chandna instead of Hina.

Why?

1. Ananta’s bio sister was mentioned on episode 1 but she was never shown. Either Eisha or Bharni could have been that character. Tina could have also been that character but as more of a side character than a secondary lead or an antagonist. With these 3 characters, Ananta’s bond was well established so if either of them was her biological sister, it would have made sense. With Radhika there were no sisterly vibes at all. If her story was established properly, if her character was introduced on day 1 as the evil tragic dragon sister, it would have had more impact.

2. One thing about Aryaman was established that he used to despise love a lot because of what his faceless ex did to him. Their love story flashbacks should have never been shown in a positive light. What’s worse that he was willing to marry her within a week he met her. Crazy. In fact he should gave never gone in front of her house to drink and cry for all these years. He should have let go but still act a bit distrustful. In fact he should have hated her when she returned. No Hamari Adhuri Kahaani. Plus looking at Kanika, I wonder why would he even fall for such a vanilla bland woman. It should have been Ahana who helps him forgive her and the couple start bonding as friends while Radhika gets angry after her sob story comes to light because her plans are failing. They ruined Aryana for the blandest love story in history of ITV.

3. Radhika and Yaman should have been a married couple who vow to ruin Aryananta. Both remain villains for long. It should have been Radhika loves Yaman the Kusarp Naag who wants to marry Ahana to become Naaglok’s king because he wants to complete his mother Shesha’s revenge and her desire to be Naaglok’s Queen and to free her from her prison.

4. Then Radhika deserved a better actress who has powerful screen presence. Kanika Mann is the worst of worst omens for this show in whole. Her acting is bland as hell and she made this compelling character who had a lot of potential into the most dullest and monotonous character of the franchise. It’s not like she’s a really evil character I Hope she gets her comeuppance one day. It’s like God what a boring actress who has zero aura and makes the episode a snooze fest. I feel like sleeping during her scenes. Only people she benefits are insomniacs because her dull performance can cure even them and make them fall into the deepest slumber of their life. Her dialogues as dragon has no aura only dohara. Suri villains are way more delightful to watch on screen. Parmeet as a character was the only character who acted as a true successor to Yamini as an evil crazy but genius saas/sasur. It would gave been a chef’s kiss to see his wife ie Yamini herself and then this season serves as final death of Yamini. Oh season 7, u could have been the best season after Naagin 3 if Kanika Maan was never a part of you. Also I know Rishabh and Pratha hated each other before they fell in love but we had good moments between them for at least 10 episodes after love confession before Mehak created the misunderstanding which made them both think that the other cheated and is a murderer. They both mistrusted each other like Shivangi-Rocky and Brinda-Dev but they used that mistrust storyline to create an entertaining track ie the Kiara track where both had great chemistry. Only because of Kiara track, them bring a couple who hated each other worked. It also worked in Kiara2.O track with Prathna and Raghuveer who came together in spite of their personal problems but it became stale when they replaced Raghuveer with Raghav who had no chemistry with Pragati and they both mistrusted one another. With Aryaman and Purvi, he was not as awful to her as he was to others so I could see them becoming friends. Then Aryaman and Ahana hated each other and even when she stopped hating him, they never became friends properly and it just felt they had pure lust for each other. Now in Apara track, Aryaman has become as stale as ever. Agsna track had so much potential if Mister Dhawan and Ahana were actually allied together. Also Aryaman should have started suspecting his family was Chengistani because they really seem to be bad at hiding who they are. Also even of Ahana proved Radhika was a good person, he should gave always mistrusted her because her story seems to he way too fabricated and he knows her better than she does. Kanika ruined what Aryaman and Ahana could have been and the legend this season could have been
