Why Didn't Maa Saraswati Fight To Protect Herself From Demons?

It Is Because She's A Peaceful Goddess?

I've never read of any demon ever threatening her. I would think that the asuras/rakshashas tended to propitiate either Brahma or Shiva, in which case it wouldn't make sense to go after their consorts. But since Vishnu was relentlessly opposed to them, Lakshmi was considered fair game
