It's funny that many people think Gully boy is a bigger hit than Dreamgirl and Chhichhore ...the power of media hyping a film.

Sonchiriya was given everything which a film could get, ads, banners, promotions, everything if it couldn't get they HYPE, don't blame MEDIA, this way we can blame all failures films on MEDIA only, that they didn't HYPE it.

I never even heard of this film until after Sushants death, guess why I never heard of it, cause I didn't see it being promoted, nor any hype from the media.

I never said she was a non-performer or a non-star, I stated multiple times that I was a huge fan until I watched Kalank. All I said was she doesn't have the capability of giving a hit without good content/script. Like when I watched Kalank, I was waiting for her scenes to take a bathroom break because uski acting such samajh hi nahi aari thi, I was so confused the whole movie about what her character was trying to express.

I hope you know the media straight up publishes press releases most of the time. The PR sends out something and an article is made out of it almost word for word. If Sushant's PR wasn't doing a good job and getting him enough hype, whose fault is that?

Gully Boy was not really hyped for its box office. It was nothing great in that sense. It was hyped because the music became really popular (Apna Time Ayega was a rage) and then finally India choosing it as the Oscar entry. I wasn't a fan of the movie itself but I still thought it was better than Dreamgirl and Chhichhore.

That was Multi Starcast film, not solo film, lots of things go bad in that film, not just her performance.
