Also, a bit off-topic, but I frequently vanish from different social media sites and just keep to my tumblr handle, so if you want that, just shoot me a PM 😊

I surely will.

But if it was anyone else, would he have been so willing to send an innocent man to jail? And if he was, what kind of person does that make him? Surely not the pure soul Tara thinks him to be..

Oh, definitely. The whole thing with Shekhar is that he is not as pure as Tara thinks him to be, but also, he isn't as evil as Dhruba makes him out to be.

It might be Agni. Or it might be Chandni. Shekhar would have the same motivation, that of protecting his children. And if he had to send an innocent man to jail to protect his children from the trauma, well... Shekhar seems like a person who would take on that pressure and bear the heavy weight of his sins.

Shekhar is a tragic character. To have to bear the pain of sending his friend to the jail and then tolerate everyone else calling him a murderer. I have really liked him in the show. He has been written very nicely. I hope nothing causes the standard of the writing to go down.

So true.

Such a complex character, written oh so beautifully, and portrayed with great passion. Shekhar, like all of the other characters in this show, feels like he is human, just like us. He has had to take a very tough decision regarding Shambhu, has lost his daughter, has brought up Tara as his daughter and is always wondering whether he fell short as a father.

The writing, as it should be with all shows but rarely is, is the strongest element of Dhrubatara. I hope it remains like that. And I hope the audience feedback gives them enough reason to maintain this quality and to continue telling the story until they have said all they had to say.

I agree with everything you said.

I can't wait for Shekhar to find out about DhruboTara's marriage. He will definitely understand Tara's decision to marry Dhrubo has been taken to protect his family. I also want to see more of Pishimoni. And what is Agni going to do now? I hope he doesn't do the pagal dewaana act.. I really liked his dialogue that he won't stop living because of Tara's betrayal.

Yes, I loved that dialogue!!! And I really hope his actions match his words. Even if he tries to take his revenge, it should be because of how Dhruba (and now Tara too, since she is Mrs Lahiri) made the Choudhuris suffer. Agni's first priority should be his family, their business. Not Tara and her betrayal.

I have seen enough dewaanas, time to see a normal guy, doing normal things, living his life.

Pishimoni has full faith in Tara. And she has vowed to bring the truth out in the open, and I hope she does that. Not too soon though, not too soon. Let things run their own course. Let the shock die down. Either way, Tara will never admit the truth, at least, she doesn't seem like that kind of a girl. And she made purohit jethu promise that he would lie, she wouldn't have done that if she had the idea of confessing.

I want to see Shekhar's reaction, I really do. This is a test for him. How much does he trust Tara? Enough to believe her innocence after everything he sees?

@bold: Yaaas! It's so pathetic that our TV shows make our leads so selfish. It's only about them and their heartbreak. They don't give a damn about their families.

The actor playing Agni is also very good. I don't know his name but the way he acted that scene after the marriage. His breakdown was really fun to watch. But he seems to have pulled his shit together and I can't wait for this show to build his character too. I have great hopes from Pishimoni and I'm just so eager for Shekhar to come back. If they continue the writing in the same standard, this show is only going to get better and I can't wait.

Suvajit is terribly underrated. You must have noticed that he is really good at comic scenes, so he mostly gets those and negative roles. While Indrajeet mostly does light hearted, positive roles, with one/two exceptions. When the main cast was introduced, people were confused as to who would play the Hero and who would play the negative role. I remember how the cast had answered that this show was a journey of love, so everyone will have all the shades. No positive character, and no negative character.

And it is a tale of love and relationships, and not just in regards of romantic love. The story is very interesting and the quality is really high. Another thing I just thought of, we always say that ITV is full of saas-bahu sagas. This one here, really is a saas-bahu show. Well, maybe not saas-bahu, but the main conflict is the domestic mismatch, and how that affects the people involved. That's... A beautiful thing, I think.

I LOVED Agni's scenes after the marriage!! What a performance. What a performance!

Can't wait to see his character develop.

The writers have put the bar so, so high, I just... I have too many expectations at this point.

Yes.. His comic timing is very good and his breakdown scene was done so, so great. He nailed it. I haven't watched much of his work. Actually, I haven't followed any serial before this one. I only remember Indrajeet from that Raashi serial and that too, very vaguely. But I'm liking what I'm seeing.

You're right about the characters being neither positive note negative. I think the only main character which is out and out positive is Tara. Agni and Dhrubo are very balanced and I'm really forward to how the show handles the journey. One thing that I have faith in is that being a bengali show, they'll not make a mockery of marriage. So I know that we will thankfully avoid any obsessive lover moments.

Regarding the saas bahu elements, this show is bound to handle those things very well. Especially because it has to deal with the emotional journey of the three characters. And that's what a love triangle should be-- an exploration of emotions. I also hope the part of Tara falling for Dhrubo is handled well. So far, the show has included moments where Tara does get affected by Dhrubo's proximity despite being in love with Agni. Something that ITV avoids totally. But as she falls in love with Dhrubo, I hope she doesn't become completely cold to Agni because that's plain unnatural. So yeah.. Hopes are very high from this show. Let's see what the future holds.

I have seen all three of them at work, and the only one who hasn't been a complete surprise is Tara. Her character is quite plain, like our ITV heroines. I hope, as the story progresses, as she learns the truth about Deepti's marriage and as she deals with her new life and the tangled relationships, we will get to see more layers in her character.

One thing that makes this show special is that all three main characters are intrigued by each other. Yes, the pull is mainly limited to Dhruba and Tara, but Agni, too, is curious about Dhruba, and although Dhruba thinks Agni is not a proper competitor, they interact quite a lot. There is a.....connection.

Making a mockery of marriage should be an out and out no, and if anything, the kalratri portion showed that they do intend on treating this marriage as a marriage. And, Tara never thought about going back.

She has her regrets, but it is a what if situation for her. What could have been.

Really looking forward to how they develop, and how they stay focused on their own goals, even while the equations keep changing from time to time.

You are right, they did show a certain amount of attraction and/or romantic moments between Dhruba-Tara even before the marriage and they keep doing that. The mall scene, the hand hold etc. That's new. And I must say, I LOVE this change.

Agni should always remain her best friend. That will put this show on a higher level. Tara doesn’t need to forget him to fall in love (and stay with) Dhruba and his their family.
