Yes.. His comic timing is very good and his breakdown scene was done so, so great. He nailed it. I haven't watched much of his work. Actually, I haven't followed any serial before this one. I only remember Indrajeet from that Raashi serial and that too, very vaguely. But I'm liking what I'm seeing.
You're right about the characters being neither positive note negative. I think the only main character which is out and out positive is Tara. Agni and Dhrubo are very balanced and I'm really forward to how the show handles the journey. One thing that I have faith in is that being a bengali show, they'll not make a mockery of marriage. So I know that we will thankfully avoid any obsessive lover moments.
Regarding the saas bahu elements, this show is bound to handle those things very well. Especially because it has to deal with the emotional journey of the three characters. And that's what a love triangle should be-- an exploration of emotions. I also hope the part of Tara falling for Dhrubo is handled well. So far, the show has included moments where Tara does get affected by Dhrubo's proximity despite being in love with Agni. Something that ITV avoids totally. But as she falls in love with Dhrubo, I hope she doesn't become completely cold to Agni because that's plain unnatural. So yeah.. Hopes are very high from this show. Let's see what the future holds.
I have seen all three of them at work, and the only one who hasn't been a complete surprise is Tara. Her character is quite plain, like our ITV heroines. I hope, as the story progresses, as she learns the truth about Deepti's marriage and as she deals with her new life and the tangled relationships, we will get to see more layers in her character.
One thing that makes this show special is that all three main characters are intrigued by each other. Yes, the pull is mainly limited to Dhruba and Tara, but Agni, too, is curious about Dhruba, and although Dhruba thinks Agni is not a proper competitor, they interact quite a lot. There is a.....connection.
Making a mockery of marriage should be an out and out no, and if anything, the kalratri portion showed that they do intend on treating this marriage as a marriage. And, Tara never thought about going back.
She has her regrets, but it is a what if situation for her. What could have been.
Really looking forward to how they develop, and how they stay focused on their own goals, even while the equations keep changing from time to time.
You are right, they did show a certain amount of attraction and/or romantic moments between Dhruba-Tara even before the marriage and they keep doing that. The mall scene, the hand hold etc. That's new. And I must say, I LOVE this change.
Agni should always remain her best friend. That will put this show on a higher level. Tara doesn’t need to forget him to fall in love (and stay with) Dhruba and his their family.
