Yes. There are screenshots on his instagram him replying to a fan saying watch his movie. They will throw me out if you are not watching my movies. I don't have a God father..
And people watched his movies. He got only few but majority were hits/ successes. He never got publicity or generated the hype because there were no articles on him.
You know how many articles were coming out when a movie made 100. Chichora made 160+ but never promoted in.the media. Bit he got rave reviews from public. Many I know watched it and praised him to the skies for his performance. There was no hype because of the biased industry.
To clarify, I'm not demeaning SSR or his accomplishments. I know he was treated like shit by the industry, I'm sure he was a great person, but I don't think he was all too 'spectacular' an actor (again, personal opinion).
I'm just questioning where this support was WHEN HE WAS ALIVE? We have known for years about nepotism, have people done much? On the sidelines sure ... but have all these people who have signed the petition stopped watching YRF, KJo, Bhai movies? Fat chance of that happening. How many of these signers gave those allegations through the blinds a second thought and believed it was false?
It's easy to petition Netflix, Amazon, Hotstar to not carry certain media companies' products, but why just these three (KJo, Sallu, YSF)? What will happen once the COVID-19 stuff ends and life begins to normalize? What happens when KJo launches an "iconic" SRK film?
I don't know ... I hope something comes from this, but it's going to take a lot more dedication than this petition to change an already corrupt industry. This petition won't do anything ... and that's the reality of it.
