Please do take a few minutes of your time to read this.
So many of us silently suffer from conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder or PTSD, investing the little mental energy that we have to simply try and go through the day. There are people who give their all to put on a happy face so as not to frighten or worry their friends and family, while secretly fighting their own internal battles.
This is a small reminder to please check on and keep in touch with your loved ones. Please be kind and compassionate as much you can, even to people whom you do not personally know, for you never know the kind of problems one may be going through. A simple act of kindness can make a huge, huge difference; devoting some time to lend an ear might just save someone from the brink of suicide. Please do not compare situations; everyone has their own story and reasons that need not be validated by others if they affect/ are important to them.
I know that it is not always easy to express yourself coherently or to even open up, especially when you yourself may be struggling to understand your own feelings and when you feel that not everyone would understand in a society where mental health is considered a stigma, but I urge you all to please talk or reach out if you do not feel fine. It's okay to seek professional help if need be - your mental health is more important than judgment or what anyone may think about you. Your feelings matter. Please do not take your mental health lightly.
Rest in peace, Sushant Singh Rajput. You were NOT a coward.
