Ans: People of a different race.

Firstly, there is no concept of 'race' in India as far as intra-Indian social divides are concerned. People here think advertising for a fair-skinned bride is racism. That too, ONLY the urban educated middle and upper classes have a real idea of what 'race' means in the international context. So how come '40%' people answered "I don't want people of another race to be my neighbour" when the idea of race itself isn't that clear to most Indians in their day-to-day lives?

Also lots of racist whites conceal their racism by giving race-positive answers in such surveys. Because nobody wants to be an outcast in society.

Given the above facts, this study seems highly inadequate and/or errant. Or most likely fraudulent.

Pakistan the poster girl of "Hum Pakistani tum Indians se gore hote gain"(given that is taken as racism, so let's play by thier rules) are much much less racist than Indians according to that chart.😆

Nahi jaama mujhe that only 5-10% Pakistans are bigots😆

Maybe the surveyors didn't go too deep inside Pakistan for...erm, security concerns. 😆

Pakistanis are not openly bigoted.. some of those tour videos on YT, lol the country looks like a mecca where they just welcome everyone into their homes and feed you free food and love all people universally.. you would have to look deeper into their mindset and how any news about oppression is suppressed and discriminatory laws are so widespread that people don't even protest in the first place. Indians are more openly racist and don't care about maintaining a facade so sacchai bahar aa gayi.

That's not true. If anything, Pakistanis don't give a flying F about appearing politically correct. They openly say stuff like, "Kaale kaale log" on social media. The rean being more than 50% of the population is illiterate and in the rest 48%, a large chunk is unaware of civilized norms in the outer world.

As for YouTube videos, every country has both positive and damning videos on it.

So you're saying the people who answered didn't understand the question?

And Americans want to conceal their racism but Indians don't?

Man you can use whatever logic (?) you want to undermine this study. But it's quite funny because it's not the only survey which shows such results.

Another survey in 2016 pretty much shows the same — India's ranked as number one here too

This seems like a copy-paste of the same survey with the exact same question. So yes, this one is as non-authentic as the other one.

Use your common sense. How many people in India understand exactly what 'race' is? How many people understand the nuances of race politics and race relations in India? Leave all that, how many people give a flying fcuk about race, as opposed to religion and caste?

Isnt it funny that a country where race is a non-entity, is considered the most 'racist' in the world? 🤓

Just conduct your own survey after lock down, Go out and ask people in India -

What is race?

What is racism?

The whole debate with survey on racially tolerant is lost when the context is misunderstood, what was the survey question to people in India?

"Do you want a Black/white person to live in your neighborhood?"

How many actually know that Black and White are different race?

Its not lack of Education, Its Indian environment, We are not divided in "Race"

Dude, In India, people in a single family have different skin color 🤦‍♀️People don't question paternity of kids on basis of their skin color in India

None in India says that they don't want to live next to a black or white Individual, more than this what's the probability of finding a person from different race in each and every city/locality of India?

One can Google "Racism in Hindi" and know that the concept of "Racism" is not same in India

You will find people who want to live in locality where majority of the people belong to their caste/religion.

In Indian cities, There are neighborhoods like Sindhi Colony, Atrocities on Dalits are well documented, Savarnas prefer living in a Savarna locality, Dalits prefer living in a Dalit locality

Please, Know India before generalizing and clubbing us with USA

________________

Indians with Colors is a different debate, its not hatred/lethal, People don't kill someone for being Black

The word "Racism" is lost when you are talking about Discrimination based on skin color in Indian context, the correct term is "Colorism"
