Hes right. Sorry if you don’t agree. Not just black people, But Indians are racist towards their own race and probably one of the most racist

groups there out there

Lack of murders doesn't mean people are not racist (first of all I don't think we have a proper mechanism to measure it in India, with data). Racism presents itself through many ways. Lack of empirical evidence does not mean it doesn't exist. This particular survey is very telling of the racial prejudices harboured by Indians.

And no, I will not keep my opinions to myself. You may stop reading my comment if you don't find them worthy but please don't tell me what to post and what not to.

So you're claiming something that has NO empirical data (by your own admission) to back it up?

You have no data but still claim that Indians are MORE racist than places where Blacks are murdered. Yeah, makes a ton of sense.

Probably he wished to be black and now projecting his mental delusions on other people.

I don’t think he meant this literally. He meant that we all like/love black culture And incorporate it into our lives which makes us all Hippocrites.

LOL why is everyone only looking at that 2 seconds, when he had 15 other minutes of pure truth and gold. The 60 sec about the prejudice in South Asian community needs to end b/c we were able to come here due to the Civil Rights Act was the best thing ever. I'm glad he and his team did the research on this. And he's 100% right about the Kalu and brining home a blakc BF/GF, desi parents would freak the eff out. I mean it's ok if it's a wite guy but not black.

People need to stop hating on Hasan b/c he's done a bunch of great work on the Patriot Act and even had the balls to call out Modi's goverment, rise of nationalism and anti-Muslim sentiments. He's the only well-known brown person doing that in the US right now. Not a single other person is.

Huh what?! We who? I don't wish to be black or white or yellow, I am very happy being brown! 😆

I think he meant a figurative "we" not like everyone, but yeah I love being brown too!

A lot of American desis worship basketball players, rappers...I mean even the Kardashian are appropriating black beauty standards. There's a picture of Kylie changing her skin/hair so much that she looks just like Beyonce from a photoshoot.

Lekin, most of the countries(both American continents) where people are actually

killed because of racism are not as racist as India according to this chart😆.

A 2013 survey conducted right after Mr. Obama started his 2nd term as the President of United States, tells you why they assumed that USA is the most racially tolerant nation

Narrative was different back then

Truth hurts. Forget about race, we as a group cannot think of our kids marrying someone even out of their 'biraadri'. Verbal attacks to North-Easters are rampant and are like daal-roti matter in Delhi or few places. Even here in NA, when people want to rent their house, they first look for someone from their 'biraadri', and all of them, I repeat, ALL OF THEM make a note that they are not going to rent it out to someone with Black skin or sometimes to South Asians irrespective of what jobs they have. A student with unstable income but from their own line is preferable than a Black or South Asian person with high paying job. Our behaviour changes wrt race, and that itself is racism. We dont have to go kill them in order to prove the point.

Of course the intensity of racism is much stronger in case of BLM movement. But that does not mean we are not clean. Yes, I donk think we as a group, 'hate' them like some anti-black people do. But Hasan Minaj's point stand valid. And yes, I know the difference between caste and race. The only race towards which we are not condescending is White.

Not sure why he said something like we want to be like them, I dont know who from us want to be like them. We dont aspire to be like those whom we don't want us to be associated with...........

That still isnt anywhere as damaging as anti-Black racism from Whites. Indians are not the group that holds institutionalized powers in the USA.

Bold: I think you mean EAST Asians. Because Indians are South Asians themselves. 🤔

I’ve lived in America my whole life and I can’t tell you how many times that when visitors from India come, the way they treat dark skinned people as if if they are not even humans.
When they see black people, they will act as if they just saw an alien and want nothing to do with that person. You will notice the vast difference in how they treat a white person vs a black person. They will literally go out of their way to impress and be kind a white person but want nothing to do with a black persons. Sorry this is my experience.

Not only this, even toward their own race. They will treat lower class workers, many servants as if they are the mud on the ground. And darker skinned people? That’s a whole nother story. Obvi this does not apply to every Indian! I am indian myself and very proud. This is just what I observe.

Obv this applies to indian Americans as well especially those who immigrated here long ago and still have a backward mindset.

lol.. there is a world of difference between how NRI families would react to their son marrying a white/Caucasian woman v/s a black woman.. interracial marriage is a big taboo in our community but white people are still somewhat accepted after initial rejection.. now coming to a black son-in-law or daughter-in-law, it's seen as a big embarassment and grounds for disowning, of course our colour obsession plays quite a role in how we would perceive a white v/s a black person.
