I don't know if it's because of saif or because she is a mom or because her pr told her to change but kareena's personality has changed for the better. So happy she posted this.

So happy Kareena posted this, whether it impacts or not is something that will be seen later, but she took the initiative atleast.

If their own favourites had posted something like this then some people here would have chanted Bhajan kirtan in their honour for days "look our gorgeous goddess did this", "look our gorgeous goddess did that" blah blah..

The same so called socially updated people who are giving gyaans and what not here on Kashmir and are criticising, where were they when few days back Cyclone Amphan hit WB and almost 80% damaged south-Bengal. More than 3Cr people were totally cut-off from the world with no electricity and water for several days. Not a single post or thread was made, agreed it was not related to bollywood, but if kerala floods and Kashmir issue can get thread despite not being related to bollywood, then why not this.

We all are selective of what we want to post and what we don't on social media, so why only few criticised.

Hypocrites

I’m glad she posted this, about time more people talk. My city is in flames today and I’m as proud as I’m scared. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Like I said it’s about time we demand and bring change. All lives matter period.

Sending my virtual hugs. 🤗

Hope the rioting and vandalism comes to a stop all over US.

Not defending police or justifying what happened. Mr. Floyd had criminal record. Last one holding woman at gunpoint in her home during botched robbery. And he was resisting arrest. He seems little unstable in video also.

Rioting and looting designer stores is not right either. The store keepers are already reeling from Covid impact and this will devastate them as well as city plans to reopen stores gradually

I love kareena so much.

But, what you said is absolutely true. She won’t have the guts to say anything when the matter is related India. Not saying that she must voice her opinion because I feel she and every celebrity should absolutely own the freedom of expressing (or not) . However posting about this issue is like making some noise without requiring real guts and you also appear informed or righteous.

I totally understand if celebs are scared to speak up in our country, coz the goons literally burn down theatres, put bounty on you, throw stones at your home, u r branded anti national etc. And the law enforcement agencies doesnt help much.

But then dont go ahead and make films that are agenda driven and clearly promote the govt ideologies. Agar apolitical rehna hai.. then be that all the way. Dont go around doing photo ops with the PM and interviewing him where u are just fanboying and not asking any pertinent questions. Thali ke baingan mat bano. This irks me the most.

Also u dont need to be very vocal like Swara to voice your views. A few of the celebs shared poems and quotes which weren't crystal clear about their stand but samajhne wale samajh gaye.

People need to give Kareena some slack along with Indian celebs in general. Maybe it's me but I feel like free speech isn't the same in India compared to what I've seen in the US when it comes to celebs. When Deepika spoke out, there were death threats, her pictures were being burned, it was super nasty and I remember ppl calling her a traitor. When you have celebs in HW speaking out against the gov/Trump they only have to deal with the nasty tolls.

It's so vastly dfferent. The treatment of free speech isn't the same, I mean even the students protesting peaceful were attacked. I'm not trying to make this into an anti-India thread at all, every country has it's struggles. But when the other side can't take an ounce of criticism, celebs don't have a choice. They're forced to apologize or stay out of the limelight for a bit.

Tbh Kareena just got on Instagram right before Covid hit. Since then she has made a statement about the migrant workers on her Instagram, then she also posted about the Bengal floods.
she wasn’t on social media when the Caa protests were happening.

I don't know if you all will agree, but injustice is injustice. It's kind of negative to question someone who's standing up for a cause, irrespective of whether they have stood up for something earlier or will in the future. The fact that our first instinct is to question someone and ultimately put them down for causing an awareness for any specific situation is what further prevents them from using their voice in the future.
