Was Kabir Singh a feminist?

I kinda like some qualities of him...like his honesty..his straightforward attitude...his intelligence...him ready to accept preeti expecting someone else's child...but I cant live with a mad person like him...he is too controlling and egoistic...but I do think there are some redeeming qualities😃

He himself treated her as a thing when he just picked her out of a group of girls and started deciding things for her like who she should befriend, where she should sit and controlled her life.

One of the issues with the movie is that in his pursuit of Preeti, we never got Preeti's side of the story which makes it problematic as to whether she really consented to being with him, or just 'fell in love' with him because he protected her from everyone else (though at the cost of her freedom).. something like Stockholm Syndrome, though Kabir never abused Preeti.

NOTE: Preeti's silence did not equate to consent.

Also, the biggest issue was the ending, which seemed to reduce the whole film to Kabir/Preeti's love story. The thing is that their love itself was questionable. Kabir seemed more obsessed with Preeti than really in love with her, and Preeti also seemed to have settled for him. Had the show ended with both of them leading their separate lives, it wouldn't be as problematic.

Yes. Ofcourse! Infact, if you take a look at history books, his picture is right there under the pioneer of feminism! He was on the streets protesting for women's rights. A true hero! They should really replace the word feminism with the 'Kabir Singh' in dictionaries now. It's high time he got his due!

Kabir Singh was neither feminist nor misogynist, he just hated everyone equally😆

Kabir is just a horrible person, all he cared about was himself and how he felt, he was a coward, his ego was so hurt when Preeti's dad said no to their relationship that he acted like a child, he left preeti all alone to fight with her parents and gave her no support. If he really cared about preeti he would have stood by her, comforted her, instead he slaps her and makes her feel so useless
