Historian should try to find out bhoj patra as in ancient time rishis use to write in bhoj patra
And should preserve bhoj patra in library so at least we can get correct information about mahabharat
Most of those have been destroyed over the time. If not those were burnt with the libraries that were burnt by the invaders.
It is not that they didn't try to find out or excavate that. The earliest manuscript found is also on a Patra (there was no paper in 3rd century BC either). This one too has been found by extensive search
Since we do not have the actual one, we consider the earliest existing to be nearest to what Vyas wrote
It isn't the one which was written by Vyas and that is exactly what I have been saying since our last discussion(something which you mocked above but later deleted since you didn't want to get personal) Vyas wrote in Vaidik Sansksrit, Vaishampayan too narrated in the same, the current one (earliest) which we have is in classical Sansksrit
