He always used to say when doing all these gifting you should always keep 2 things in mind, your status and saamnewale ka. You should be moderate.

In ours it is they have to return the cash gift we give by raising 50%. so if we give 1000 we get 1500 in return. He used to say what if that person can't that person will borrow or make some arrangement which is wrong.

Also in the first event if you give more money and in the next God forbid you are not capable to then wo baat bhi buri lagti hai.

So always think about both parties.

Best solution for this is to print on cards what is the trend from many years in at least my family
