Exactly, it hard to say who he was the happiest with. Happiness is just not having a fulfilling love life. Other factors like professional success and family life can play a part. Who has he been the most into? Well, he cheated on Deepika with Katrina? So out of the two, he chose her? Then again he dumped Katrina because he either got bored of her or his parents didn't approve. But his relationship with Katrina seemed longer. So her.

To me he looked happiest with Katrina and also most real. With Deepika he was so immature that it feels like the relationship meant nothing to him. It could've been any pretty girl and he would've been just the same. Whenever he was with Katrina it never seemed fake to me. Like he didn't overdo adoration to show how much he loved her. He would tease her but then complimented her in beautiful ways. One time he would say how she is a "torture", or a know it all, or "badmash", how she is his harshest critic blah blah but then he would also say things like how she is such a better person than him and he learns a lot from her or how she is such a deep person that it would take a lifetime to learn her because yeah she is pretty but she is so much more than that.

Their relationship lasted a long time and that's not an easy feat in bollywood. For a while it seemed like everyone was sure they would get married so they must've been very serious about each other. When asked about Katrina once he had said something like for once in his life he felt centered and really happy and he didn't want to talk about it.

With Alia, I just find that whole relationship so gross. The whole crushing on him when he was in a serious relationship and then hooking up with him after befriending his gf just seems dirty. I know no bollywood relationship is clean but this seemed dirty even for their own standards. To me Alia seems like a child who is Ranbir's new plaything. If tomorrow another younger actress overtakes Alia in bollywood popularity and praise and she comes out and says she has a crush on Ranbir, Alia should be very very worried and make sure they never do a movie together.

He looked genuinely connected with Sonam and compatible with Katrina. He looks the happiest around his mom n Ayaan.
