Maybe its just me, but I never found Piyush to be holier than thou. I always felt that he wore the mask of being good but wasn't as innocent and nice. He always wanted Kashish and he got her. Few things -

(a) when he found out that Sujal/Kashish were in a relationship previously, he never tried to find out more and help his friend. Going how "close" he was to Sujal, shouldn't he have spoken to Sujal and wanted to know if Sujal was truly ok with his relationship with Piyush? He didn't. Rather he very "smartly" portrayed Sujal as the bad guy while standing next to Kashish.

(b) The night of the wedding; he realised that Sujal/Kashish loved each other. Yet he portrayed himself as the good guy willing to sacrifice just so that Kashish would give in. If he truly wanted Sujal/Kashish to reunite, he would have walked away and said no to the marriage, but he didn't. He was never sensitive to the fact that his friend would not be able to take this. He grew up with Sujal, didn't he know Sujal's nature. He may not have predicted the extent to which Sujal loved Kashish but there was no doubt that Sujal loved Kashish.

(c) The worst of the worst - he 'boasted' to Sujal that he slept with Kashish after he lost the deal. Wasn't this supposed to be a very private moment for him & Kashish? Why the need to let Sujal know? He saw this as a point of victory clearly. I agree with Sujal in that Piyush used his loss to gain Kashish's sympathy and slept with her.

Sujal wasn't a good guy, but he was who he was. That moment when he leaves his house after being misunderstood and tells everyone that now he will be bad, and he will do what everyone has constantly accused him of, is brilliant! Have to say that this was one of the rare ITV shows that got the grey male lead right.

I agree with your impressions on Piyush, everytime he used to start lecturing on how he will bring back sujal, I used to be like shut up you hypocrite, he very conveniently kept everyone by his side, be it kashish or CG and made sujal the bad guy, sujal was so hurt only because he saw that coming from piyush.

As i said above, whatever Rishi did to break up sujal kashish was still understood because he was genuinely a negative character and hated kashish, but piyush just took the advantage of sujal and kashish's misunderstadning and got into the marriage as if he never cared about how his best friend was utterly shamed and betrayed by this act of his.

The marriage episode was so heart breaking, sujal begging kashish to not marry piyush, and piyush looser pretending to understand everything, what a hypocrite.

As you said the worst was when he proudly claims that he slept with kashish, he said that to sujal to burn sujal's ego, but which wise man would do that? telling his wife's ex lover that he slept with his wife, just WOW. kashish was no less, she tells sujal that she was pregnant, both kashish and piyush behaved like they knew each other for 7 births while the truth is kashish did not even love piyush unless sujal was accused for the lies and kicked out of the house for no fault of his. Kashish never even tried to find out that whether sujal would ever do that with her ? She was ridiculous and so was piyush and I hated both these hubby wifey couple.

Rajeev will never do a daily soap unless its a finite series. KZK is anything but a finite series😆
