Karna got his name after he carved out his armour from his body. The name for that act of carving out in Sanskrit is "kartana" and one who does kartana is "Karna". Before that, he was referred to as Karna only by the narrators. All other characters called him Vasusena/Radheya.

Lol Devdutt Pattnaik has portrayed Kunti as a shrewd woman, well versed in palace politics 😆 She didn't let Madri have more than 2 sons so that she doesn't become more powerful than her.

I had read another analysis of Kunti as shrewd woman earlier in some blog where the writer said Kunti was well aware what Arjun got as alm & still asked all her sons to divide Draupadi equally among them because she feared that if only Arjun married Draupadi, there will be rifts & jealousy among her sons because of Draupadi as she is beautiful & probably all her sons were attracted to her.😆 So to keep her sons united, she never let that Arjun x Draupadi ship sail which today's fans are so obsessed over 🤣

I guess StarMB's Krishna actually mouthed this logic of uniting the 5 Pandavas in one dhaaga so that there are no rifts.

Prolly even Ps couldn't have managed without fighting had there been individual wives of all 5.😆

They had individual wives too, apart from Draupadi.😆 The point here was that Draupadi was the most beautiful woman of India & all the 5 Pandavas were attracted to her. So if only Arjun married her, there were chances that the other 4 brothers will feel envious towards Arjun & the unity the Pandavas had among them could be spoilt. Kunti didn't wish to risk that. This was a unique case 😆😆 I am realising Mahabharat is quite driven by this attraction / desire etc that men feel for women. 😆 Almost every big turn of events are because of this thing.😆

No it wouldn't since Bheema too wasn't the biological child of Pandu. He was Vayu Putra.

As per some legends Maharaja Shalya was called Pavan Dev (not as an incarnation but metaphorically, owing to speed the he drove the chariot). I think Shalya could be the biological dad of Bheem in that case

Actually vyasa had already met and informed pandavas about drapaudi s previous birth and that she is destined to be their common wife so that mother adesh thing was just an act staged for drapaudi and everyone was involved including arjuna and since even panchal wanted to seek pandavas out i think they were already aware of this including the act hence drapaudi was silent during the entire the thing - because their( govind+panchal) plan was working perfectly and thus this pandavas panchali alliance came into play that boon thing was just a theory for others.

That was not my point 😆 I have heard about this too. I was just saying that people often analyse Kunti as a shrewd & politically well versed woman based on her actions. She is not at all the helpless bechari widow these tv serials portray her to be.

BTW the Karna whitewashing is very much present in Devdutt Pattnaik's writing too 🤓
