I loved Palace of Illusions because of the writing style though I do not believe in the POV it puts forward.

I actually love the Krishna-Panchali theory put forward in Aryavarta Chronicles. I again don't agree with everything it puts forward but it did hint at Drau's actual love being Krishna, which I do agree with to an extent 😆

Speaking up against injustice may not reveal one's identity, but having the courage to do it, knowing full well that Keechak could kill you if you did, would hint at something. Let's say that instead of Yudhisthir, it was some other ordinary man whose wife was kicked in the sabha. Would that man risk the wrath of Keechak? And if he did, wouldn't he risk getting killed? That is what Kanka risked: either he'd have been battered to pulp by Keechak, not helping Sairandhree in the process, or Virata or the others would have suspected that this was no ordinary mantri, and would have started investigating. Given the number of days left, they may well have stumbled upon the truth.

I think if a man would be at all willing to do anything, he would show some kind of protest, and though there's not much to judge Keechak's character apart from him being an abuser, i don't think just speaking up would lead to Kank getting murdered. I am not saying he had to raise a weapon, but simply a protest. Also, even if he didn't speak up, his tone in the speech at least from KMG seems insensitive. Here I do understand translation differences and tone analysis may differ. But that's what I gathered.

.

Writing style is nice i specifically liked the drau-drisht parts and 18th night massacre that was heart wrenching 😭

Rest everything was bad very bad

AC is a superb read kus is really talented. Specially she had done full justice to panchali and govind s character their characterization being closest to epic and giving proper due to some lesser known/appreciated characters like shinkandin drishtdyum ashwattama and even uttara.

I love love govind panchali s bond too its deep very deep Plus vyasa himself calls them sri and Narayan a couple of times. KUS has done full justice to their bond. I firmly believe that they were most important person of eachother s life and that they didn't words to describe it. They knew it and that was enough they were eachother friends and confidant

My siggie is one of the quotes from one of their sequences i think this describes them perfectly.

Also they did share a nice bond with their spouse too but at the end of the day they were made for better things. And understood eachother better than any one else.

And thereby i will like to declare that. Krishna and krishnaa were perfect for eachother. Alas! Fate had other plans. ❤️💔

Sucks that Krushna and Arjun fought for Yudhishtira's victory, I'd rather Arjun or Krushna be the King 🙄 Yudhishtira didn't respect or consider women as humans

🙃🙃🙃

I had thought of this but didn't write thinking it may offend someone, Krushna was in her swayamvar and he obviously had every quality she asked for, only if he had participated and Arjun had a sprain in his thumb 🤧

I think it was mutual decision between krishna and krishnaa that the former will not participate. Because all these politics was involved that neede panchal pandava alliance. But they did had a very deep bond. Krishna gets so so made everytime he recalls panchal s assault i have not seen any of her husband get that bond. Plus it his name she called out in moment of distress❤️

I didn't like the characterization of Parth in Aryavarta Chronicles. Most authors do this. Cut other characters down to size to prop up the hero. But Govinda didn't need propping up 😂. I wish Parth were also portrayed accurately.

Besides this, I have 2 more objections. Other characters: Dharma wasn't as black as portrayed, Vasusena was no innocent lamb who misbehaved only when in Hastina, Vyasa waa definitely not the black character he was shown to be.

Thirdly, the 3rd book. Why, oh, why make Uttara say those things about Panchali? I wanted to take a cane to the bottom of the little brat 😡. Uttara came across similar to the 3rd wave feminists with no clue of how hard the women who went before her needed to work. (Paraphrasing) "I understand she went through a lot, but she didn't need to try to be one of the men." Idiot.

But I loved the way the politics of the land was portrayed, the philosophy, and yes, the Govinda-Panchali bond😆.

Yup

She told him how she doesn't have anyone in her life, even he abandoned her in the most crucial moment of her life where he promised her that she will get justice. Yudhishtira and all were ready for peace with 5 villages but the way Krushna presented this peace offering in front of Duryodhana made Duryodhana feel that Pandavas are weak therefore desperate for truce, I don't think Duryodhana denied them 5 villages because he knew they can turn it into a blooming Kingdom, It was Krushna's negotiation skills which made him deny everything and boost his ego

I also love how Draupadi and Krushna discuss matter of state, condition of women etc, Draupadi giving piece of her mind to someone who was source of Bhagwat Geeta makes her character much more special for me
