Yudhistar never ask draupadi to forgive kheechak but he was telling that wife never get angry at husband and by doing husband services wife go to heaven

He just said to draupadi that u don't understand situation right now

And yudhistar even tell to draupadi that one who insult u , gandharv ( as pandav disguise as gandharv) will kill them and will remove ur pain

No where yudhistar ask draupadi ask to forgive draupadi

That kshama word come from Mahabharata teller he told to king that why draupadi has not curse kheechak and Mahabharata teller start explaining importance of forgiveness

What he did was worse in text. He told her to suffer for his sake (ie, suffer Keechak's assault). They'll get revenge later.

Does that honestly sound better?

Read yudhistar said to draupadi that one who insult u , gandharv will kill him and reduce ur pain

And yudhistar didn't not ask draupadi to forgive kheechak but instead

Yudhistar was saying to draupadi that wife should never get angry at husband as draupadi was angry with yudhistar

Here in br chopra Mahabharata dialogue of yudhistar to draupadi is really edited

Read what he said prior: good wives have to put up with a lot of things for their husbands. He was asking her to put up with Keechak's assault.

Then, the Pandavas would take revenge. AFTER she got assaulted and after their exile ended, I assume.

BRC did epic Yudhishtira a favor all things considering. In the show, he at least only asked her to forgive Keechak. In text, Yudhishtira asked her to PUT UP with it. He wasn't asking her not to get angry with him though he did several other times. He somehow assumed she should be like his younger brothers, mutely complying with his self-centredness, willingly undergoing an assault to save his skin.

'Stay not here, O Sairindhri; but retire to the apartments of Sudeshna. The wives of heroes bear affliction for the sake of their husbands, and undergoing toil in ministering unto their lords, they at last attain to region where their husbands may go.

What affliction was under discussion at the time other than Keechak's assault?

At this point, I have to imagine this is willful blindness not to see what Yudhishtira meant.

Yudhistar was dedicated to her brother and draupadi

He sacrifice heaven for his brother wife and dog

When yudhistar standing at gate of heaven

Lord indra said dog cannot go inside heaven

Then yudhistar said if dog cant to heaven then I will not also to heaven. I would prefer to stay with dog

It is yam who disguise as dog and then yam come in actual form. Yudhistar has passed exam then yudhistar enter heaven

In heaven yudhistar saw that duryodhan was staying in heaven and his wife draupadi and all 4 brother staying in hell

Then yudhistar sacrifice heaven and said it is better to stay in hell with nice people then staying in heaven with enemies

. Following dharma is not easy it requires lot of sacrifice, patience and yudhistar manage to follow dharma in every difficult situation

Not everyone deserves Kshama. The magnitude of the crime matters a lot. Forgiveness should be granted to an individual who is genuinely inclined towards repentance.

When it comes to someone like Keechak, forgiveness is a vice and may lead to more crimes against unsuspecting victims.

I think @CaptainSpark put it well. Forgiveness is about not holding a grudge. It doesn't mean a king/leader shouldn't hold a criminal accountable for his crimes.

@CS, I might steal that line 😳 if it's okay with you.

Yudhishtira failed to understand dharma, a fact pointed out by Krishna himself.
