The early 2000s/mid 2000s were actually pretty fun. Those foreign set movies which were lapped up by the audience especially NRI...lol.
Nowadays, foreign set movies rarely work unless there is some kind of hook to it.

I have to disagree entirely. Not that there is or isn't something wrong or right about being "preachy" but this scene is the definition of preachy. Everything about it, from the words themselves to the way it is delivered.
I found the conversation completely unnatural too. The way she's spilling her heart out and he blurts out "would you go for a guy like me?"- it's just cheap convenience.
The treatment of the scene is very melodramatic. The down-trodden look on her face, the camera angles, the pauses between the heavy dialogues, the thick tear stuck on her face.
It took a good almost decade for Hindi cinema to become more realistic, but I suppose we had to go through this era to get there.
When I say not OTT I mean according to Bolly standards. I do agree that the treatment it very conventional and cliche, but again they were making a mainstream movie and it's still GREAT for those times imo, given we had cringey melodramas like K3G just couple of years back. The main thing for me is that I have never seen a heroine from early 2000s Bolly ever say 'Is a girl incomplete/nothing without marriage?'. It rings so true even today and will do so for a while. Don't think this is preachy at all.
But glad to hear all kinds of opinions. đ

I love Katrina now. She gave birth to a son and pleased her in-laws and hot husband Vicky. It seems she is a great bahu, wife, and mother....
