It is pretty rare for Hindi movie heroines to stand up for themselves and talk about patriarchy this way, without being preachy or OTT. This scene really stood out for me, esp because this is not even a serious/topic film.

I love this scene❤️ She was so convincing!
Love this movie too...it was romantic without being sappy. It depicted romance in a very real way. Both Saif and Rani were outstanding.
This was my favourite song:
Wow the power in Rani's delivery!

I just re-watched it, and it has rather aged well. The performances by Rani and Saif were terrific.
You may not believe it, but the only reason I'd gone to watch this movie in the theater with my friends was to watch the trailer of Dhoom.
Needless to say, was super impressed by the movie. TOI had even started printing HumTum cartoons in the newspaper, and they were fun. Those were the heydays of YRF!
One of my absolute fave rom-coms... For me HumTum is better than the English rom-com this film was inspired from, When Harry Met Sally.
Can we take a minute to talk about Rani’s acting? This is what I miss. We don’t have this kind of talent anymore. Just look at her man. The delivery is so real, doesn’t even feel like a movie.
Even Aishwarya and Preity have had some great breakdown scenes.
We don’t even have these kinds of well-scripted -and well-enacted emotional scenes anymore. Other then Kareena’s breakdown in Good News I haven’t seen anything on this level

I have to disagree entirely. Not that there is or isn't something wrong or right about being "preachy" but this scene is the definition of preachy. Everything about it, from the words themselves to the way it is delivered.
I found the conversation completely unnatural too. The way she's spilling her heart out and he blurts out "would you go for a guy like me?"- it's just cheap convenience.
The treatment of the scene is very melodramatic. The down-trodden look on her face, the camera angles, the pauses between the heavy dialogues, the thick tear stuck on her face.
It took a good almost decade for Hindi cinema to become more realistic, but I suppose we had to go through this era to get there.

Go watch Highway and Dhadak then. Enjoy untalented, emotionless and empty forced acting

I love Katrina now. She gave birth to a son and pleased her in-laws and hot husband Vicky. It seems she is a great bahu, wife, and mother....
