She was amazing as Jodhaa but that year Priyanka won for Fashion which as a female centric commercial film whereas Jodhaa Akbar was a love story shown from Akbar's point of view.

Jodhaa Bai was a great role but for awards Priyanka's role was more challenging role since it was a female centric film. So they gave it to her but Aishwarya also received two important awards for Jodhaa Akbar. Star Screen Best Actress (Popular) and V Shantaram Award for Best Actress.

The performance was beautiful but there just wasn't enough for he to do in the film to win the best actress awards. Priyanka ha a much better role and she pulled it out the bag.

However, I feel the best performance of 2008 was Kajol in U Me Aur Hum. Major snub. But they gave it to her 2 years later for My Name Is Khan which was more of a supporting role so whatever.
