Hey Nandu and Diya!
I'll try to drop in as much as I can. I have been thinking of doing a big analysis post for all the characters but I get scared when I think of the amount I will have to type. Maybe I'll do it soon or maybe not at all because I think we all already know how the characters are. We'll see.
I really want to commend the writers on being able to maintain and build on the characteristics that they had shown in the beginning. The conflicts are essentially still the same but the way they pan out is completely different. They've handled it so well.
These beginning episodes are so insightful for Kuhu and Kunal's characters though, especially the ones you guys are discussing. This is probably the only time we've seen them express their feelings out loud. They don't do that later in the show and neither are the flashbacks shown like they are shown for Mishti. Abir ke liye bhi nahi dikhaate aaj kal to. Maybe because they handled his conflict when they brought in Mehul's character and now they'll focus on his thoughts more when his inner battle about Meenakshi will be portrayed.
Coming back to Kuhu and Kunal, we get to see that both of them wanted to get married to each other. It is so clearly visible and then Meenakshi steps in🤦🏻♀️. We had been discussing KuKu's back story in the AT a few days back and the rishta swap just reminds me of the conversation we had about the Bachelor/Hen's party, specifically Kunal's line: "Agar Mishti humaare beech nahi aayi hoti to humaari kahaani kuchh aur ho sakti thi". You can totally see him resenting the rishta swap in that moment. He had already decided after his first proper meet with Kuhu that he will mostly say yes to her. The milna julna was just a formality for them. Kunal's expressions when Kuhu is coming down the stairs is just 😍 and then both of their sad faces just hit so hard.
Also, we get to see how the 4 characters handle the situation and their struggles.
Abir blames Meenu, fights with with her and then decides to leave the house to find peace of mind. This portrays his biggest weakness and struggle. He tends to run away from situations when they get too overwhelming to handle leaving everyone to handle things in his absence or rather just Nanko.
Kunal biggest flaw/struggle: He puts his own feelings at the back burner and focusses on his Bhai and maa's feelings. It kind of feels like he thinks he will handle them first and then move on to think about himself but inn dono ke beech ki problems khatam ho tab na.
Mishti tries to face the problem head on, like looking for Kuhu and then trying to talk to her but the second she is reminded of her past, she looses semblance and becomes impulsive and emotional because she is blamed for something that is not her fault, but has somehow shaped her entire life. We saw a similar situation in the recent episodes as well.
Kuhu, the happy bubbly girl turns into an emotional tornado, crying and blaming, whenever the scales are tipped in favour of Mishti. The girl wants equal treatment but the situation always becomes such that whenever Mishti is happy, something is taken away from her.
