Her story sounds like the common one amongst wives in elite Delhi households. Wife swapping, auctioning wives, a night with someone's wife for a completion of business deals- it's quite common there. So I don't doubt the abusive part at all. And why she was still with him? Well, it's always difficult to come out of abusive marital relationships. Most people don't even try to. They don't even have a clue what's happening to them still years of therapy undoes that abuse. Social shame, failed wife shame all that is still very real in our society. So women does take and take abuse thinking it will be better next time around. It also depends on a person's personality how they handle abuse. Submissive and prone to self shame personalities rarely speak out. Doesn't matter from what family they belong.

Am just glad she came out of that hellhole. I hope her kids saw none of it happening. Hope she's in therapy. Stay happy,Lolo.

By auction she means her husband asking his friend how muchj they'd pay for her cause she was an actress and had certain 'worth'. That's it. Was meant to be a joke between husband and friend but ovviously a disgusting one.

What a horrible marriage.

I don't think any woman would make up stories about husband or any one putting her out for auction.

That is pretty shameful for any woman (though it shouldn't be, she is not the one at fault)

Also people say he might have joked about it. I really don't get these kind of jokes. If I would be her husband and a friend would talk about auctioning my wife I would break his face. But all these socialites you know. They all do it and expect everyone one to adjust. It's a cheap and toxic environment to be in.

I can also understand why she kept going on with this marriage.

She got into it because she was heartbroken,

rumors about her depression and how she didn't show up for shoots were spreading. Her mother is the one who got her married, as I hear, to bring her out of it.

Once you get into a relationship in such conditions, there is a pressure to make it work at any cost. One doesn't want to look like a failure.

Sadly she paid the price.

Karishma is the only one I like from the Kapoors. She always looked nice and humble compared to all other brats.

Wish she finds some nice guy who will make her happy.

Okay I'd really like to know why is some people here trying to put it as a JOKE? Asking for anyone's worth isn't a joke let alone your wife. Joke amongst friends about auctioning his wife. Several sick, horrible, cruel human. Let's hope he rots in hell....

This is so common amongst elite household including wife swapping. Oh what a horrible life beyond the fairytale glamour 💔

Sounds far-fetched esp on honeymoon..... Was he drunk and didn't realise what he is saying ??? Either way she should've left the relationship, if there was no respect.... Self respect is the most important and it would've been possible for her given her status as a celebrity....

Chalo, at least now she is out of the hellhole...

Exactly. Same reason many women whose partner hit them don't file a case against them. They form a traumatic bond/stockholm syndrome and think they don't deserve any better than the abuse. It is deeply psychological and when you're in an abused state of mind you have been ripped off of your ability to think properly, because the abuser makes sure you are broken down enough that you'd not see any worth in yourself.

I have always thought that Karishma came across as very docile and gentle too, she is the complete opposite of Kareena and is a total sweetheart. It makes sense that she was vulnerable to being abused and having the abuser get away with it.

Wife swapping and using them for business deals is pretty common in the Delhi socialite circle(more so if she comes from a modelling/glamorous background).

And just a reminder, Karishma's mother moved out of the Kapoor khandan circle ages ago, so Karishma never had the backing of the 'powerful' Kapoors.

No talking about the topic

Just writing for those who THINK Karishma was a HUMBLE person. 🤪

No she was absolutely not

If you read 90's magazines & tabloids, everyone and almost all of her colleagues stated her a very difficult person to work with

Karishma had huge fights & issues with almost every actress of 90s (except sri & madz as they were peaceful souls)

She was extremely proudy, haughty, arrogant and a big snob

Infect Kareena lookslike a saint in front of what karishma used to be

Plz do read all 90s magazines, they all resonate exactly the same

She used to be a huge trouble maker & a sassy rude kapoor, as I said much worst than even Kareena.
