Exactly.. What Prerna lost, he knew was irreplaceable, but he tried to fill that void by getting Prerna attached to his daughter, jabki he stayed in the sidelines letting them bond..
And his guilt of not being able to protect the child, who he accepted as his own might be eating him and he must have self imposed the punishment of staying away from Cookie on himself.. He is that kind of a guy.
