Indie he clearly meant he cldnt choose aarti over sana as that was what asim and rashmi were fighting with him for. He cldnt put it across clearly . I am damn sure he meant that. But I do feel he regretted that decision to the core especially when Shehnaaz was in tears (last scene). There were tears and fear in his eyes too along with guilt.
