Seems like Karan might of liked the idea of the movie and Varun got cold feet.

Why would anyone invest in Kartik especially since he just delivered a dud with Imitation Ali and Sara Pataudi Rani

Probably nothing.

Doesn’t sound like Varun is planning to do a Dharma movie any time soon. He is doing the army biopic next and then a movie for Sajid by the Kesari director.

And what happens if nothing works and he needs a Dulhania movie? Though Alia herself might be up for one of those in a year so it might work out.
