First of all, let me tell you @allthatcritique that your post is really a gem!

A classic example of a character character analysis as well as deep rooted insight into Rishabh Bajaj. All the replies and following posts after this are equally wonderful. A big round of applause to everyone who contributed to this thread.

I would like to add my bits here. Rishabh Bajaj as a character was introduced with its magnanimous approach and till date he lives up to it. He was a man of few words and still is. Whether a Sharp Mentor or a ruthless businessman, whether a doting father or an honourable husband, whether his grey shades of manipulating a woman into marriage or trying to usurp the properties of his business rival, all these character traits have a hint of Larger-than-life persona. That’s how his presence and absence has been defined in the show till now. He is still the talk of the town despite his absence most of the time. He is the much required momentum in an otherwise repetition of tracks. Coming to respect and honour, isn’t he always like this? He has been extremely protective About his daughter and the moment he saw Prerna as the mother of cookie he bestowed the same respect to her. Whether using her favourite colour as her wedding outfit, or marrying her with every possible ritual, he gave her a respect. There is no denial about how brutally he crushed her hopes when he married her forcibly or deal marriage as they would like to call it. But, he emerged as the quintessential brooding man, so dark yet promising a hope to his ladylove. As I have always maintained, his character has been an enigma, unpredictable and walks on the thin lines of greys, whites and blacks. I may not say that he is the best man for Prerana but he is definitely a man that I root for. Because no matter what he does, Prerna shall always be safe with him. He is giving when it comes to her and she will always be so. He evokes a certain pathos when you get to see that though taking charge of the entire world, he still is a lone wolf. Mostly confined to his thoughts alone, difficult to read! And, again a man of promises that he delivers. It’s his story I am looking forward to. Somehow, I can always imagine him sitting in one corner as a lone wolf and smoking his cigar while drinking his whiskey. That man is committed- He is loyal-He is devoted-He is devious-He is challenging- He Is plotting-He is nowhere yet he is everywhere. 99% of the people do not know the real Rishabh Bajaj, I hope one day Prerana becomes that one percent who know him.

Thank you!

I think the most fascinating part of his existence is that even though he's a lone wolf and difficult to read, you can just simply trust him to do the right thing albeit the not so conventional way which only makes the character more interesting. And he will only do the right thing for the right people ( or who thinks he are the right people 😆)

Rishabh Bajaj is a lot of things to a lot of people. For some, he's a god and for others he's a literal nightmare. But in all of these shades, one shade of him trumps all the others. The husband,Mister Bajaj.

The relationship between Rishabh and Prerna did not start the way a marital relationship should.

Some say it was just a contract, others insist it was emotional manipulation but nobody can deny it was a marriage of convenience and nothing more at the start.

Even if it was emotional manipulation, a lot of people forget that Rishabh never pretended to be he was a saint and that's why he never owed Prerna anything other than a stranger's distant concern. It was a deal.

What's astounding though that even as a stranger, Rishabh was more of a husband to Prerna than any of her so called self proclaimed past or future husbands.

What makes Rishabh the husband that he was?

His wholehearted acceptance of Prerna's child as his own without a moment's thought.

Here is a man who respected an unborn child enough to never call it 'a mistake'.

No child deserves to be called that. A mistake. Drunken state of conception or not. Rishabh never taunted Prerna about her child even though it wasn't his own. He could have. Infact, they were complete strangers and he was supposed to be ' a villain' like Komo like a lot of people said,no? What stopped him from constantly mocking and taunting his 'wife's unborn child especially when the biological father and his family were connected to his pain in the past?

Well,it's called integrity as a man. And he had so much of it that he even left property in Sneha's name.

And that's not even half of it.

The man never touched 'his wife' inappropriately. He maintained a distance. Infact a lot of times he was awkward and fumbling when the wife herself got too close.

All this when he hadn't even realized he was in love. Nothing was done with an intent to bind her to him. It was just who he essentially was.

Rishabh Bajaj as a husband was LOYAL. And even when he was no longer her husband, he was still loyal to her out of love. He didn't marry another woman, he didn't play house with her,he didn't father another child. He was loyal as they come to her : Physically, emotionally and psychologically. And no matter how CVS try to twist it in the future, his loyalty saved her life. If Rishabh Bajaj wasnt there that day,she would be dead by now. PERIOD.

To go back to their marriage, everything upto the point of him realising he loved the woman could be null and void. What did he do when he realised that he loved her?

He let go to seek her own happiness. He put her life above his own. He 'sacrificed' in the truest sense. Point to note : He didn't have to. Not once. He didn't have to be good to her throughout the marriage. He didn't need to care for her child. But he did that cause he's a good man with actual integrity.

The best part about Rishabh the husband and ex husband?

Till the first day to the last, he never allowed someone to hurt a single hair on her head.

Emotionally? He stood up for her when others insulted her, hurt her, said unkind things about her. Even people who swore they knew the 'real her'.

When Prerna was being manhandled his first thoughts were 'you can't talk like that with my wife'. He stood up for her when others degraded her, he let her know that nobody would respect her if she doesn't respect herself. She should have taken that advice.

Because when she was thrown down the bridge without a single thought or word to her, that's when you realise how important his advice was. Nobody respected her enough to talk to her about her own life. People just made the greatest decisions of her life and motherhood without a single thought about her emotions. Not Rishabh though. The man gave her agency. Even when that blind trust lead to an extramarital affair, not once did he disrespect her enough to take her decisions for her.

He would never ever dream of hurting her,not a single scratch. He would rather destroy people who try to make one. THAT'S HIM. POWERFUL. PROTECTIVE. A MAN WHO WOULD GO TO ANY LENGTHS FOR HER SAFETY. You can't get away with hurting Prerna when Rishabh Bajaj is there.

And to Prerna, he became her rock. He gave her a new lease of life, did not let her succumb to her suicidal thoughts. A supportive man who helped her become confident and independent.

In all, Rishabh Bajaj was the kind of husband who would instead burn the whole Howrah bridge down for Prerna Sharma rather than throwing her off it.

Amazing a big shout out to the post maker...👏👍🏼👏

Can Prerna make the right choice for once in her life? The big question. 😆
