I don't understand why these entertainment big time loosers being awarded...instead of them sports personalities should be awarded as they contribute to the country by winning medals and glory for the country

The list shows a lot of people from various states winning in the arts category. Then why is Kangana being specifically targeted here. She is not the only one neither Bollywood is the only industry winning here. Its not fair to specifically name her for this.

Padma Shri award was first given in the year 1954. This award is awarded to citizens of India in recognition of their contribution in various activities such as the arts, education, literature, industry, cinema, sports, medicine, social service, public affairs, and others.

There is awards for all the ones your mentioned.dont understand what you are going on about

As I have checked the list I have seen there are more people than just bollywood who have won from the hindi belt.

I understand, Kangana need not have to be targeted. Many others (sometimes, even less qualified) have got it.

On bold (Padma Awards for regional movie industries). If we put them all together, it may exceed Bollywood. But individually, Bollywood gets a lion share. As someone listed here, every other (language) movie industry has 2 or 3 representation. But if we make a list of Padma awardees from Bollywood since 2000, we will find in dozens.

Government cannot increase Padma awards for regional industries. At least, decrease the frequency of these awards for Bollywood and make it more prestigious to get them.
