Shivarajkumar fans oppose Padmashri to Kangana

Recently Bollywood big names including the likes of Kangana Ranaut, Karan Johar, Adnan Sami and Ekta Kapoor have conferred the Padmashri Title.

However, Padma award for Kangna has not gone down well with the fans of Kannada actor Shivarajkumar.

They feel that Shivanna deserved the award before Kangna as he is a talented actor and has been part of the Indian film industry for long now. They also said that because of this discrimination, the lifetime contribution of an artiste like Sandalwood century star Shivarajkumar has gone unnoticed. Dr Shivarajkumar Yuva Sene group is seeing red and saying that it's high time that fans of all the Kannada actors joined hands to protest against the injustice meted out to South actors.

One of them even tweeted saying that while Shivanna has worked in over 120 movies Bollywood actress Kangna had a mere 30 to her credit. So he wondered how could Shivanna be deprived of a Padma and on what grounds was it given to Kangna. Director Simple SuNi too took to Twitter to protest against not giving an award to a seasoned actor like Anantnag who has been part of the industry for years. Fans are hoping that the Central government stops this discrimination and starts treating every Indian actor equally. They are also hoping that Shivanna and other talented Kannada actors' names are included in the upcoming awards list.

Did all the awards in the arts category go to Bollywood only ? No other industry got anything ?

Kangu doesn't deserve it one bit... All she has is 3/4 good films.... There are many south Indian actresses who has much better body of work n deserve it bt prasoonji ho tho sab mumkin hai

first of all i don't understand why entertainment get these awards when actually they did nothing to serve the country nor contribute anything no entertainment people deserve such prestigious award not even this guy being mention by the above article deserve just staying long in industry doesn't consider a contribution actually they just fill their banks and pockets

such prestigious awards are for those who dedicate and sacrifice their lives for a noble deed and contribute to the country...these awards belongs to the army navy air force and various departments who sacrifice their life for the country...for those personalities who fights for women rights, child abuse ,childhood marriage ,safety for womens,contribution to save mother nature/animals and wildlife,contributes to medical and many more that bhagat singh mahatma gandhi rajguru sukhdev and many more freedom fighters die and fight for

I don't understand why these entertainment big time loosers being awarded...instead of them sports personalities should be awarded as they contribute to the country by winning medals and glory for the country

I agree..... And even if they want to give to celebs for making india shine on international platforms then it should be those who make India shine.... Like Irrfan Khan and Priyanka Chopra...... Kangna has literally done nothing....

I am not sure whether regional movie/serial industry gets equal importance as Bollywood in Padma Awards.

Shivraj Kumar is definitely much senior than Kangana. But then, he is senior than Amir/Sharukh too, who have got Padma awards in early 2000. (If you say they had superstardom for a longer time, one could not predict that 15 years ago).

Forget Shivraj Kumar, Anant Nag (contemporary of Amitabh Bacchan) and one of the finest actors of India, still has not got Padmashri.

Probably there will be such examples from every regional movie industry. Bollywood gets it too easily.

Yes this Kangana doesn't deserve it one bit. They should give it to Vidya Tabu or Deepika.

The list shows a lot of people from various states winning in the arts category. Then why is Kangana being specifically targeted here. She is not the only one neither Bollywood is the only industry winning here. Its not fair to specifically name her for this.
