Shahnaz is actually originated from Persian language. Shah means king and naaz means pride. It is neither Muslim name nor Hindu name. It was a Persian word at first. But later when Persians turned muslim they kept the name. And As far as I know some Gurus of Sikh included some of the rules of hinduism and Islam in Sikhism too. So they follow some rules from Persian, Islam and Hinduism. Although they have their own rules too.
And what about Mahira? I am kind of curious about her. I saw her saying "hay allah" a multiple times. I mean there is nothing wrong with it, I am just curious if she has changed her surname before entering BB or the modeling industry just like Dipika from last year did.

Mahira is a Hebrew word. That means either from Jew or Christian origin. But now it is in Arabic too.
